The strands are definitely just cheap plastic and not fiber optic, the whip doesnt rotate and is fixed so flowing with it would be hard, the best thing this could be used for is as a costume accessory.

Whip works and charges like expected. Gentle whipping produces a cool whip sound and it coils back more or less like a whip should. Looks really cool at night as a trailing E-bike scarf.Fiber-optic RGB things like this are insanely useful for art installations or costume ideas so I like supporting products that can help creatives make cool stuff. My other fiber-optic whip has a USB-C plug and the button is actually on the handle so you can change it while you're using it. This one has a micro-USB and the button is on the bottom so it can't be turned off with one hand. This one is a little less pricey however so I'll only dock a half star. As I mentioned, I like supporting products that can help creatives make cool art or costumes and the value matches the features here.4.5 stars rounded up.

I plan to give one to my friend. I don't need to buy batteries separately. I can charge it with a charger, which is one of the reasons why I think it is convenient. The handle is about the same size as a small flashlight. I think it is very beautiful.

I am quite satisfied with the length of this whip, and it is very easy to control the dance whip, and you can get multiple colors with just one button.

This is soooo much fun. I took it out last weekend to a silent disco gathering with some friends on a rocky promontory in the dark and we had a blast! Looks amazing in photos as well. Love the solid handle, easy button, and the versatile color patterns. There's one that's pretty trippy that might be a bit much, but the color and pattern combos are great. The shape is a little odd imo, there's the main "whip" section and then the shorter fiber optic pieces splay out in random directions making their own random patterns when you throw the whip around; I wish they were a bit more "organized" and graceful looking. But this is a great beginner whip and super easy to use and charge.

Works exactly as described in the listing. The colors are bright. It seems to be made from good quality materials. Looks really cute in photos taken at night.

I ordered this for my daughter for dancing and I'm a bit disappointed. The light is cool but it is hard to control and doesn't behave like a whip. It is a bit floppy and you can;t really get it moving without stray pieces of it hitting you, kind of like twirling a long length of hair, it flies away on you. I was hoping for something that would move more like a ribbon of light, this does not. It is just a bunch fiber-optic string attached to a light and the price seems a bit steep for that.
