I got a very nice unit delivered. It fits my indicator just right and is quite easy to adjust for zero and position. The magnet is very strong and easily holds a 5 lb steel block in the air when tested. The magnet switch on mine turns on and off easily. I don't know yet about long term durability yet, but for $20 I'm pleasantly surprised.

This magnetic base is well built and locks down solid. No rust or other defects. This is a good buy.

All the parts work as they should and movement of the arms is smooth. The screws satisfactorily lock everything in place and the fine adjustment knob operates well. I would only like to have a slightly stronger magnet, but for fine readings it is strong enough to hold it in place.

This is much more heavy duty than I expected for the price. The magnetic base holds very strong. It can be a little difficult to turn the magnetizer back to the off position but it’s not terrible. The large locking screw handles make it very easy for adjustments. Overall very happy with it.

This is one heavy duty dial indicator. I use it with my J head milling machine and I need dial indicator holder that can hold up to some heavy use yet I can move it out of the way quickly. This product did the job at a reasonable price; it’s hard to find a used dial indicator holder for $20, let alone a new one. I’m very impressed and would purchase again.

This magnetic base is strongly built. As far as I can tell, all its components are made of steel except for the plastic thumb screw wings that tighten the assemblies of the rods. After opening the box, I noticed two issues - one of them was the fine adjuster spring axes slit out of its locus, and I had to push it back to the center. The other issue was that the lever that engages the magnetic base was not cooperating as I had hoped, and moving from the magnetized mode to the unmagnetized one required more force than I anticipated. I hope it will become easier to engage over time, but this is a point of disappointment to me.Another point of improvement that the seller should address is the lack of a manual. Although this is a rudimentary tool, it would benefit from an instruction sheet.
