I bought this to strain tea because it is so aggravating when a tea bag bursts. This strainer is not large and is five enough to strain out the tea grounds.

Very badly made item. The part where the holder is soldered onto the strainer has totally unfinished sharp edges and even on the underside of the strainer all around the soldering is so unprofessional it looks like you bought this from road side vendors. Do not buy.

I bought this for loose leaf green tea, and it works perfectly for that -- including being easy to dump out and wash after the tea is made. I also now use it to sift powdered soup bases, like from ramen noodles, to weed out oddities like big chunks of black pepper. Best little strainer!
