Bought these a while back, about a year ago. I Really like them. Every stroke is improved using these paddles because if I don't use them correctly they rotate or slide around. Have been using them twice a week during 1,500 yards of a 2,000 yard swim. Was concerned that they would not stay in place but not a problem. Never had one completely slide off. A slight pinch between thumb and bottom of 1st finger holds them in place. Never got any rubbing or blisters from them moving around. I can let them rotate out of the way on my thumb to easily grab the side of the pool. I am 68 years old and bought the mediums. Just the right size even though I am 6' 4" tall. I work out with a real swimmer who is 6' and he also uses the medium size. You will like these paddles!

Great little "tortilla chips" for improving your technique and power in the pool! I've only been training in freestyle for a couple of months now, so not an expert review by any means!Still, I've tried both the strapped and strapless paddles, and find that I prefer these for their simplicity, ease of use, and how they force you to be conscious about staying "palm positive" throughout your stroke. Plus these paddles are just plain fun to use. I've found the increased "torque" can let you muscle your way down the lane and distract you from your form. If you will pay attention to your body, however, the increased speed can really help you recognize where your posture and form need adjustment as the "glide" becomes more evident.

Size: Ideal for small hands; Vertical length equals to size XS in comparison with paddles of other brands;Design: Unique one-piece strapless design with aerodynamic convex-wings and comfortable easy-fit thumb holes; Increased hand circumference rather than merely increased vertical length;Material: Tough and durable;Intended Use: Resistance training for upper body strength building during the pull phase;Comparison to Speedo Swim Training Paddles:1. Finis Agility Paddles provide a better fit for hand size of 155mm/6"(H) and 90mm/3.5"(w), thus there is no extra length over the finger tips;2. The convex-wings design of Finis creates aerodynamics during the entry phase, thus maintaining the space between the palm and the paddle; whereas the extra length over the finger tips of Speedo Training Paddles receives the resistance of the water during the entry phase therefore generates a force separating the paddle from the palm.3. Finis simplicity strapless design removes unnecessary inconvenience such as adjusting the straps or replacing broken parts. The Finis Agility paddles are easy to put on and to take off. They don't fall off easily but do amplify incorrect technique or posture.

I love this paddle. I have a medium-sized hand with a circumference between 8.3 inches and 8.7 inches (depending on where I measure it). So I ordered the large size (> 8 inches). It turns out to be too big. I have about three quarter inch gap between my hand edge and the paddle edge. But once in the water, I don’t feel any looseness because the water pressure keeps it in place. So for anyone who is debating between medium and large. Don’t worry, either will work. (the paddle is one rigid piece). My first experience in water with this paddle is positive. No need to adjust any of my form. It works smoothly instantly (maybe I do already have a good form :)). The paddle forces you to follow a trajectory: your hand should always be in line with the forward direction. The only awkward thing is: if you are an open turner like me (don’t know how to flip), with the paddle on, it is hard to make the turn. There are two options, either touching the wall by the back of your hand or your feet. I prefer the first option because the second one will stop my momentum completely.

These things are pretty good but they do run large. They don't take up much room in the gym bag since they 'stack' crudely on top one another. They make you move a bit faster but make you tired much faster. That's perfect for me because I am trying to get in a short swim workout over my lunch break.Durability seems pretty good. I have hung on to pool gutters with them on and no cracking, etc. has occurred.CONSI have large hands and can palm a basketball so I got size Large.Size Large is too big -- I should have bought size Medium. The only downside of being a little large is there is a little slop for your hand to slide around in...not a big problem and you do get a bigger surface.

Let me say that I have bought two different paddles before and the rubber attachments were too uncomfortable for me. These paddles are by far the most comfortable. I also find these paddles easy to use. I have been working on my underwater push and these help me concentrate and increase my power and speed. I am still building up yardage with these during a workout. I typically swim a 3,000 yard workout. I now am up to about 500 yards paddling and these leave me pain free. perhaps more importantly to my lane mates. I can easily moderate my speed. I have not hit anyone with these paddles, which would hurt and I can do flip turns pretty well. I did hit the lane rope one time and it knocked the paddle off. It was easy to find and retrieve.

I am a beginning Masters Swimmer and my Coach had advised I should get a flat paddle, such as Strokemakers. They have holes in the paddle so you can feel the water coming through. This is supposed to be better for Beginners. The problem I had with them though was the rubber tubing. It was very painful for my right finger that had previously been broken/dislocated and undergone surgery. The pull was fine.I love the Finis paddles because they have no rubber tubing. They are much more comfortable and they have a good "pull". Initially, the bottom of the thumb cut out bothered me a little but as long as I keep good stroke mechanics they are very comfortable.I have also been able to use them for all strokes. For backstroke I can really feel it in my shoulders so I don't wear them much so I can avoid a shoulder injury.I got the small size. I am 5'3" and have small hands. The height of my hand is 6 1/4" and the paddle is about the same.I would definitely recommend these paddles for people of all abilities.
