Not much to it but arrived overnight, cheap and works well. Not much help for leg work (use a kickboars for that), but definitely helps feel the water.

Took this out for its first swim today and I am obsessed. I swam around 550 meters with this and then took it off for the rest of my workout and felt SO fast.

I tried blue one and a few of us thought it was too much resistance. We are strong competitive swimmers. The red one has just enough.

I have been using this product for many years. Previously I would swim with nail aprons from Home Depot. This is significantly better. A favorite set is to do rotations of 200 w/chute, 300 w/ paddles, 200 swim all on the same interval. This is a killer set and will get you strong in no time.

The first night I used my drag chute (for about 500 meters total), I stopped to pick up Chipotle to pick up dinner on the way home. When I got home at 8:30, I was so tired, I shoved my beloved fajita burrito bowl in the fridge without even unwrapping it, did a faceplant into my bed and didn't open my eyes again until 7:30 the next morning. That's the good sort of tired.I tend to use it with paddles, pull buoy and ankle lock and I alternate 100 or 200 meters with the chute and then the same distance without. You can feel the difference immediately. So far, the only issue is that I have to remember to put the strap directly in the small of my back or else it gets dragged at my 4:00 or 8:00 instead of my 6:00 which is annoying. I usually need to tighten the belt before each workout b/c it tends to end up around my hips instead of my waist. But both are easily remedied. Turns with it are OK, although I have to initiate the flip a couple inches closer to the wall because I have less momentum coming in and I have to be slightly more careful placing my feet to avoid getting the leash tangled around my legs. All in all, it's worth it -- I love how tired it makes me and I'm already seeing an improvement in the distance I cover during my breaststroke pullout. This is good because my kick is so terrible, I depend on my walls to get anywhere.

This parachute really helped me with my upper body strength and keeping in proper alignment during my swim strokes. It is very easy to use and does not get in the way of my kicks. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve the strength of their swim stokes.

I have had great luck personally using these and using them for my HS swim team.We never did laps with these. Used them for strength and speed work doing high intensity 25's and 50's.We used the 12 inch for really strong swimmers and the 8 inch for girls and butterfly work (I have used the 12 for butterfly, but it is tough to maintain stroke form for me with the big one-that said it gives one a great shoulder burn, but seems as though you can overwork the joint/muscles/tendons easily if not well trained).I like to use this for warm up before a race, it helps me feel the water better and gets the muscles ready faster (although in Master's swimming this may be illegal, so be forewarned).
