3 Easy Steps to Use the Firewand
Fray the tinder rope to be ready to ignite with one ferrorod strike
The very fine threads of the hemp rope lead to a high surface so that it catches a spark easily.
Ignite your Firewand and move the flame under your wood pile
No matter how you ignite yours, it will catch fire quickly!
When finished pulled the rope through the Firewand tube to extinguish quickly and safely
The flame extinguishes when the wick is pulled inside the aluminum tube.
Three Reasons We Created An Opening On The Tube
Use more of the rope as you thread it through the tube
We made one side shorter so that you don't get stuck with the whole tube filled with the rope. You can push it through until the tinder rope is all used.
Control the flame by pushing with your thumb - so it is a one-handed operation
In a situation when you might be protection your flame with your hand or reaching out to the back of your wood pile, you need to be able to operate your Firewand one-handed. The opening on the tube allows for a one-handed push and pull of the rope using your thumb.
Better heat dissipation
We noticed that other tube models are getting really hot. Once we created that opening, we could hold the flame longer without burning our fingers. We knew that we had the right solution.

Simple design, plenty of rope for you to use this for a while and allow you to practice different starting methods so you can be sure if/when you need it it will do its job.

I appreciate the idea. I used this product a few camping trips ago. Worked just fine. I smoke so I always have a bic lighter on me. I understand the skill set to create a fire with other than a lighter is great. So I added this to my fire kit. Honestly you never know when you'll need it. Great to have.

Very handy tool to start your wood stove. Or to start your Bushcraft stove. I have had four of these and love them I would recommend them to anyone. Usually I get a sticker with them this time I didn't. The newer version is much easier to use than the older one

I thought the hemp rope firestarter in a metal sleeve was kinda gimmicky, and bought it on a whim. I took it on a trip where I thought it would be fun to try and we’d all joke about it and talk about cotton balls and vasoline being better—turned out this little thing is really handy. Once fluffed up, you can light it with one strike on fire steel very easily, and it is really handy having a mobile flame (like a very hot and large match) to light kindling. We were all surprised how nice it is to use. It was one of my most successful albeit very random gear purchases. It ended up working great.

This device is about the size of a birthday candle and just as lite. A lot of people might say just use a candle, but I live in the Southwest and am likely to need that candle and find nothing but a pool of wax.Best uses are anywhere you need or use a match, but only have a ferro rod to start a fire.The AtomicBear seems to be a pretty good company as well. The product comes with 3 9-inch jute twine wicks plus the holder. In addition, the card has both the link displayed plus a QR code to video instructions for using the device.Impressed enough with their site and catalog that I will most likely change a couple other items on my purchase list that they also distribute to their product version as they are in the same cost range or close enough that the included features justify the cost difference from what I was already looking at.

so pleased how well and easily it took a spark. easily ruffled the end of the twine up a bit, and a few seconds later my flint got it caught on fire. just absolutely ideal for small, simple, lightweight, fire on the go. a flint, and this thing and i could get a bunch of legit fires going, rather than having to scrounge up natural tinder out in the woods, or bring single use tinder option. and replacing the twine is as easy as ordering some 6mm twine, and coating it some canning wax u can buy even just at walmart.
