This is a really nice quick-release shackle. I use it for my firefighting equipment and it does the job. It's strong, can take some weight, and releases well under load. Very nice little addition to my equipment. Can recommend.

This item is a smaller version of quick releases commonly used in sailing applications. This version is very lightweight, as in, fine for holding lightweight objects but nothing that would exert much force. The bail hinge is pretty sloppy, meaning that closing the bail might be a little touchy and you would need to make sure that it is locked. The "Reflective Lanyard" sounds good as it would be easy to see and grab to release the clip. On the flip side, the lanyard could also potentially snag things and release the clip.One side of the clip is a solid ring. That will limit what you can attach it too. For example, the last picture in the description shows two clips on a backpack, except if you look closely you can see that there is no way that the clip on the Molle straps could have been attached. It sure looks like both clips were photo shopped onto the pack.In summary, if you can attach the solid ring to something and the item you wish to attach on the swinging bail side of the clip is not too heavy, and there is no risk that the lanyard will catch on anything then this clip will probably work fine.
