This is the elegant solution to my issue. I go backpacking and am scared of hooking my eyelets and or tips of my rod that breaks down into 4 pieces, 4 sets of tips on top and 3 on bottom is a scary thing to have on the outside of your pack when your surrounding forrests are all dense with prickers, and branches that like to steal and pull things off your pack. This bundles the tips better than any other option I've used or tried so far, not only that, but takes it one step further and hides them away during travel. It's simple, easy to use, and works great. Adjustable for different size break down rods, and has a D ring to be able to tether it to whatever you'd like, or tether something to your rod likewise. I'll be getting a second one for my other rod as I'm learning fly fishing and would like to bring my normal and fly fishing rods, and didn't want to have to bring a thick heavy protective storage tube I have to protect them. These will be coming on all backpacking trips from now on. I love it.No complaints. Would recommend highly. Protect your tips and eyelets!!!

This is exactly what I needed for my fishing pack. The rod I'm currently using actually has 4 sections and I just separate the middle one so it's in 2 relatively equal lengths. Those are velcroed together and attached to my fishing backpack. I've always been afraid of damaging the tip of the rod. This simple but effective thing is basically comprised of a stretchy, adjustable strap with a neoprene pocket on either end. One is tapered for the tip end of the rod, the other is a slightly wider pocket for the butt-end of the rod. There is also a D ring on it so it can be clipped to your bag or belt or wherever else you want to clip it to. The strap itself naturally becomes a shoulder strap, so you can just sling it onto your shoulder for easy, hands-free carrying. It's super easy to slip on and take off and I feel better having even a little bit of protection for my rod.
