My sons use these for fishing, but after the first use, the color faded from the sticker on the blue one. Overall, decent quality aside from the stickers.

I use a lot of this style lure for surf fishing mostly for Blues and Spanish Mackerel. They cast like a bullet and have a lot of flash that those predatory fish strike hard. These work well but for this price there will be a sacrifice and it's the hooks. I usually touch up lure hooks when I get new lures but these needed a little extra work. Time will tell how often they will need touched up but if I get a good buy on some good hooks, I may replace them. So far though, hook ups have been pretty good. At this price, these are a nice value if you toss a lot of hardware in the surf.

Grabbed these on a whim as I needed a set of casting spoons for a short shore trip. The weight is good and they cast well. They are ok for occasional use. However, the peripheral hardware is suspect and it does not look like they would survive salt water for any amount of regular use. The colored flash on the side is simply prism tape and will last for maybe two fish nibbling at it. The supplied treble hooks are awful. Dull and poorly made. Replace them first thing.

Metal fishing lures should be a part of every anglers tackle box. They cast better than pretty much every other lure.In stormy weather, metal lures are the ones that can punch through the wind and give you the casting distance you want.Metal lures can be cast, trolled or dropped to the bottom and jigged. They can be fished deep or shallow, depending on how fast they are retrieved through the water. They can catch fish however you choose to fish them.If there was ever a “universal” lure , that is one which will work in all conditions, both in freshwater and saltwater and for all species, this is it.If you could only have a single lure in your kit, these would be an excellent choice. These particular lures are well made from solid polished metal. The manufacturers listing states that they’re “solid metal” so that tells me that they’re not stainless steel .They’re probably steel that’s been chrome plated.Just be aware that carbon steel will rust and that if you use these lures in saltwater you’ll need to rinse them off with freshwater after use.Regardless of the material they’re made from, they’re going to catch you fish and they’ll still last a long time. These lures cast like a bullet and will fly as far as you need them to.I do feel that the hooks are a lighter gauge wire than I’d like for saltwater use. They’ll still work but a big, toothy fish won’t have any problems bending them so if you’re targeting large fish you’ll want stronger hooks on the lure. The lures have a wiggling, action which causes it to move enticingly through the water. As it wiggles, the chrome plating and reflective decal produces flashes of light just like a real fish does as it moves in water. The fish you’re trying to catch will be attracted to this flashing movement and they will strike at the lure viciously because it’s doing the same things that their prey does. So, these are really good lures and they’re available for a really good price.Get them and I believe you’ll be happy with their fish catching performance.Cheers !

These spoons are solid, heavy, and can be cast a long distance. Also, because of their size and weight, I can fish quite deep with them, which is perfect for King and Spanish Mackerel around out local channel markers. The decals do get a bit scratched up with these toothy critters, but then that happens to all lures.

These are well made attractive spoons. They have a reflective mylar insert imbedded on one side. The hooks are sharp and the split rings are good quality. The spoons are very much reminiscent of the old "Kastmaster" spoon that was deadly for Blues and Spanish in the east coast surf. The difference is these spoons have a slight bend on the front and back ends. They have great action and cast like a bullet.Damon M. Tatem

I am pleased with these lures, I think the most important thing to note is they are all about 3/4 of an ounce in weight, so a little on the bigger side of things, which can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on what type of fishing you plan to do. I think the colors provided are very natural looking and will do a good job of attracting fish, 5 different colors provided. I have not had a chance to actually use these for fishing yet, so I can’t speak to their efficacy, but any fisherman knows there are a variety of factors involved.Overall, good build quality - made of metal, good value, and should function as expected, they will likely outlast losing them to a snag. I will update my review with any success stories I have if/when they happen with these lures.
