They need to make those grommets out of a different material there is so much heat collected underneath the Corvette especially where the exhaust runs under the transmission the plastic they are made out of is very soft and deteriorates quickly they need to be made out of a better material they can withstand more heat being a Corvette owner I know it darn good and well how hot it gets underneath there the grommets need to be made out of a harder plastic or maybe even a brass kind of bushing with some type of plastic around it that will let it pop over the shift mechanism on the transmission and the shifter inside the car it gets extremely hot and the rubber or plastic they are made out of breakdown very easily
