Excellent add on, you just need to remember to keep charged batteries in your flash units as well.

I own two, each paired with canon its own 600ex-rt, and they finish double wedding weekends with juice to spare on a single charge. I no longer carry dozens of AA's, just enough to operate the flashes and a few spares. Also, I have some indication of how much charge is left, unlike with double AA's in a CP-E4 or similar generic AA housing.

The instructions are not that great, but the power pack is. My only complaint is that the cable used to connect the power pack to my Nikon D7000 took a while to connect. I ended up completely removing the locking ring from the pack, connecting the cable to the pack, then reconnecting the locking ring. This was a pain but that was the only way I could ensure that the connector pins were properly lined up to the pack. My first use was for a studio shoot where I used the power pack for a fill in flash. The recycle time is incredible with my SB800. Glad I made this purchase.

Thought / Hoped this would live up to the review and solve the power issues with shooting major events and keeping the flash going strong. NOT!!! I charged the battery and did some test shots - all seemed well - turned everything off for a week. Just now went back to it to find a dead battery that will not charge. This is an epic FAIL for this product.
