The wetsuit arrived in great shape. I bought it for my tall 6 year old and the length was good, but the wet suit has a little extra space in width through the chest. This extra space combined with the thin-ness of the suit makes it not great for our needs. We bought it for boogie boarding in Southern California, but it only gets us about 40 minutes before my daughter is chattering and has to get out of the water. (Using it in winter, fwiw)If your child is tall for their age and at all lean, this may not fit tight enough to keep them warm. Otherwise, it's a decent wet suit. I just wish it kept my child warmer for longer.

I ordered this wetsuit for my son who wanted to go to the beach with me for morning swims. Fitment was good and he had no complaints regarding binding or chaffing. The zipper pull was easy enough for him to manage by himself and has shown no signs of noticeable wear. This wetsuit was for better than expected and I very happy with my order

I ordered this for my son to use while in Hawaii. It worked perfectly while on our underwater scooter excursion! My son gets cold very easily and this kept him warm and comfortable. The sizing with the recommended age/weight was way off for us. My 11 year old is tall and thin (5 ft and 80 pounds). If I went by the chart by his weight and age alone, it says to go with XL, however his bust measured 28", waist 25" & hips 29" so I went with the L and it fit perfectly! Before ordering, I would suggest measuring your child and going solely by those measurements and not the age and weight. I hope this helps others!

My kids have been wearing wetsuits in the Pacific Ocean since they could toddle. Typically they wear the 3/2mm full suits that keep their torso warm in the waves, but don't let them overheat on the sand. This is 3mm all over, so definitely a suit for maybe 55-66F water but might be a bit much in summer weather. It's great for the fall, winter, and spring though. Our usual wetsuits are over double the price of this one, so it's hard to resist especially with how quickly they move through sizes. It has a high neck with a wide velcro flap that should help keep out that cold water from the torso area nicely. Long corded zip in the back so he could unzip on his own. I did find that this runs big, and while for most kids clothing, "growing into" it is an option, for a wetsuit, you want it to fit like a second skin. The reason for this is that if the suit is not right up next to your skin, it's not providing the insulation against the cold that you want. Cold water will be able to rush in and out constantly up through the legs and neck and push out the warm water and refill with cold water providing very little insulation. When the suit fits tightly, the water will rush in initially and warm up with body heat but will not easily be flushed in and out the way a loose wetsuit would allow. We did use the size chart and ordered a Large based on weight and measurements, but this wetsuit won't be the right size for my 50th% height/weight 9 year old kid until he grows a bit more. He probably would have fit just right in the size down.He didn't like that there was a little shark cartoon logo on the breast - thought it was too cutesy compared to the usual O'Neil or Quicksilver logos on his other wetsuits. It's not pictured on the product page for the blue full and the purple full suits so I thought it would be a totally plain suit which would have been fine, but you can see it on the wetsuit photo for the product called "rose full" and "rose shorty." I'm going to see if there is a way for me to remove it without damaging the neoprene. In the end, I think this is a good value for a kid's suit honestly. It is thick and will provide warmth, but you do have to get sizing correct which might be a little tricky.

Our kids are long and lean. One of them in particular is always freezing when we spend time in the water, whether at the lake, the pool, or the ocean. She is a tall, slender 8-year-old, and while the size large was the correct length for her, it was loose around the thighs and middle - looser than a wetsuit should be. However, it kept her warm in the pacific ocean, and her siblings were fighting for turns wearing it as well. Her six-year-old brother was able to wear it, and it also kept him warm. She loves it, and it held up well during our week at the beach. We look forward to using it again next summer!
