Fordward to Release Ratchet
1. Push the handle forward so that the handle is perpendicular to the floor.
2. Push the iron planks to return the flooring jack to its original position.
Push Down the Handle
1. Gear and spring loaded ratchet for locking in place
2. Pull lever handle to ratchet faceloate against a stationary surface
3. Ratchet until flooring is in the desired position

This tool helped us install our floors and keep the gaps tight between floor boards. The flooring jack was very easy to use and offered a great alternative to the mallet when working in tight spaces. Well built and sturdy. It lags precision, which is due to the 'stoppage' of the rubber pads. That being said, there are ways to optimize. With a bit of creativity there are ways to modify it, for example bolting it to a piece of wood or a base plate.

Works as it should. It is easier to use than I expected from other reviews. Is sturdy and strong. It also came with replacement wear items. I used it to install laminate flooring, it worked lots better then using a hammer and block. The hammer and block seems to be more destructive to new flooring, this jack is firm but gentle to the product I was installing. Overall I am happy with this jack.
