This one replaces the same pump used since 2015 for a salt water live well and wash down on our boat. Good pump for use in harsh conditions and was on time and as described

I am having issues with water pressure. It also quits running after 5 minutes. My old one, same model could run two hoses with no problem but the new one won't even run one sprinkler for more than a few minutes.I am going to spend some time troubleshooting but may return it and just fix the old pump.

I bought this jet pump to replace a 20 year old Flotec sprinkler pump. After installing the pump and redoing the fittings for the new pump I primed it and started it. After it pulled a full prime from my well points (about 10 minutes) I noticed a consistent 30 to 40 PSI output pressure depending on which zone I was feeding. The sprinkler pump would pull good pressure, then fall off until it pulled more water again. This pump doesn't do that. I like this pump. I get solid, consistent water spray from my sprinkler heads instead of an strong/weak cycle.

This pump worked very well on my irrigation system. It's much quieter than the old pump. Now I can enjoy my back yard without the old pump grinding away in my ear.

I am replacing the identical pump I have had in service for about 10 years. I chose this pump again for 2 main reasons.1. As mentioned above, my last Flotec FP4022 pump lasted about as decade with constant 24/7 use. I did rebuild the pump head about 2 years ago which would be considerd normal.2. Flotec is a Pentair company and I work on Pentair equipment every day in the foodservice industry. The are considered one of the very best and their performance and longevity proves it. Although Flotec is their "economy" line, it is still excellent equipment at an affordable price point. The only reason I am replacing my old pump is the motor is failing and will need a rebuild, which I will send to a local motor shop for repair. I plan on keeping the rebuilt pump for a backup or for use by one of my neighbors if they need one in a hurry. If you can afford a premium Pentair or Goulds pump, go for it. If either one lasts 10 years, great, but at twice the price, those others should last 20 years! At $250 delivered, 10 years of performance figures out to $25 per year or about 7 cents per day... seems like a fair price to have water every day!People say thermoplastic pumps are not good. If 10 years of dependable service, sitting outside in temps from 115-16 degrees is not a good test, I don't know what is. Buy a Flotec, it won't disappoint.

One reviewer didn't like the plastic case -- that's actually a desirable feature in damp environments. Its predecessor looked gross and probably had a shortened life due to heavy rust. Stainless steel is an alternative, but much more expensive option. This pump works great. Available at home depot as the "higher end" shallow well pump though much cheaper here. Its tough getting the fittings leak-tight. I had to purchase pink (thicker) Teflon tape to do it. Stays the same too -- I dropped in a replacement with no piping work after its predecessor burned up after a couple years. Switching to a new pump previously was a lot more work with fittings and routing. Rebuild kits are available, but at these prices don't really make sense if your personal labor is worth much.If your pump is burning up after extended power loss (I've lost 3 that way after I've either evacuated or not been present for multi-day power loss) there are electrical controllers that cut off power if running dry is detected. Get one.
