So far I'm really liking this alarm clock. It has a LOT of buttons, but upon following the directions found that it was quite easy to set up. I just wish that the part where you choose the alarm sound wasn't so loud, I wish that it were quieter so that you can choose the sound without feeling tense from the volume level while doing it, and then it could be louder when you choose the level you want it to reach.Other than that though, it's really great. The sound quality isn't too bad, quite a bit better than I initially expected. And I really love the 'sunrise' part of the alarm, that it starts 'rising' before it even goes off (ten minutes before). I used it to get me up this morning, and was woken up by the light rather than sound. Which is great because I share a room with one of my sisters, and this'll help me not wake her up by my alarm going off before hers (assuming I wake up to the light every time). You can adjust what "time" you want the sun to appear fully 'rise' at. simulating the sunrise appearance at 6A.M., 9.A.M. and 12P.M.(which is, of course the brightest). I have it set to the 9 A.M. sunrise (L-02) which has a nice, soothing yellow tint to it, whereas the 12 P.M. reaches has a harsh white glare (which would probably be great for heavy sleepers).Once it reaches the full 'sunrise', the alarm sound starts going off with whatever sound you've chosen, quietly at first and gradually rising until it reaches the full volume level you've set it to.A little bit ago I set the alarm for 12 or so minutes later and sat and watched the 'sun' rise, and to here the alarm go off, since I didn't get to this morning. It was fun and soothing. The sun starts of a red color and gradually gets to the full intensity of whatever level you've set it to, in my case, a sort of golden color. It was interesting to see the light kind of fluctuate, or gently pulse, as it 'rose', it seemed like sunbeams or something of the sort. And then once it hit the time I'd set it to, I started hearing gentle beach waves that gradually became louder. All in all, I really love this clock!

This works, although it is clearly an inexpensive machine. The radio works fine, as does the other sounds. The light is actually quite nice.

I got this specifically for my son who has ADHD and struggles with waking up on time in the morning for school. Out of the box, it was pretty easy to figure out how to set it up (he's 12). He set the alarm and chose his color and sound. He picked the yellow to mimic the sun-rising look the clock gives off. He also was recently diagnosed as having some type of seizure we are unsure what the trigger still is so having a slightly, intensity-increasing neutral color option was a great option for him rather than some clocks that have super bright/loud options that could be triggering. There is the option to keep the light off and just go with the sound. He was excited to go through the sound options to intentionally find something "annoying" that would hopefully get him up. It was between the doodling of the rooster and the gong (went with the gong). And it worked! This kid was always waking up late or I'd have to get him resulting in being groggy, running to get his morning chore done, more than likely miss breakfast and sprint to catch the bus. In this last week of having the clock, he's been up on time each day. I noticed with just the ability to wake up on time, he's more functional (able to do his morning chore with the dog, actually do his hair and remember to take his meds) on time without it being a morning whirlwind leaving him unable to eat a good breakfast due to lack of time resulting in choosing a sugary cereal which with ADHD doesn't help....his only complaint is there are two alarm options but they are not automatic. He was hoping to have one alarm set for school days and then the other for the weekend to sleep in a little longer but has to manually change the alarm on Fridays if he intends to sleep in. For the price, I think that feature should have been included. All in all, great for what it's supposed to do and he's happy with it!

Got rid of our cable box that had the time on it. Does not seem like that big a deal, but it is annoying. Got this and love the addition features of the radio and sound machine. Really cool.

Save your hopes, money, and time for a different sunrise clockThis alarm functions as an alarm, has a Low-Quality radio, and DOES NOT function as a "sunrise alarm."While this alarm does sport many color options to go TO SLEEP to, including a decent yellow and orange mix and lighter colors, as well as many other display colors like red green pink purple, blue, and the like; as well as prerecorded audio; the Alarm settings themselves only give you a choice of 3 preset color parameters, dark and dim red, less dark red and blinding white LED Light, which is not what I expected when it came to a "SUNRISE ALARM CLOCK" since when is a sunrise LED WHITE?It does function as an alarm clock so I can give it that, but this is IMMENSELY overshadowed by the fact that it doesn't function for the reasons I bought it for, and for which it is labeled and depictedthe pictures are as follows;pics 1, 2 Alarm Light setting 1pics 3, 4, 5 Alarm Light setting 2pics 6, 7, 8 Alarm Light setting 3
