Right off the bat, these car door handles look sturdy and exude strength. The metal areas are thick enough to instill confidence. The hook end folds so that it is a bit more compact when putting in the door pocket. It inserts properly into the door latch and stays in place. In the beginning, it was a little loose in the rear door latch. Once it was pushed in decisively, it performed better. This was due to the fact that the rear door latch is angled upwards a bit. The handle portion is also angled upwards as a result. Be sure to address this before using with an elderly person. The handle is covered with soft rubber on top and hard plastic on the sides and bottom. The grip feels comfortable. The addition of a seat belt cutter and ability to use the hook end for breaking windows makes this also a useful safety device.

Works like a charm for my 86 year old Father. He can move himself and center on the passenger seat easily. The door latch handle fits securely with no play.

This is just what I needed when picking up a neighbor, who recently had a full hip replacement, from the rehab center yesterday. It was ideal for helping her get in and out of our vehicle. It is very sturdy and it locks into place with a push pin to fold it back down for storage. The seat belt cutter and window smasher are good in an emergency. The quality is excellent and the price is very reasonable at $19.99 for the two. This is a great addition to any vehicle if you might need to get someone with mobility issues getting in and out of the car. It would make a good gift also.

A person of my years starts to have trouble with the silliest things like getting out of your car! Unlike others I've seen this one is made entirely out of metal & is strong (but the handle is padded rubber)! It folds & unfolds easily & hooks quickly to any car door latch! Just keep it handy in the door storage slot! This would also be a great help getting INTO high cars... eerr SUV's! The handle on strap (which has a lock after closure) can be used in cars but many other ways in your home too! For the quality the price is exceptional for both aids!

Purchased this for an elderly relative who has trouble getting in and out of vehicles (particularly ones with a step). The item is nice and small so it is easy to keep in a purse or in a glovebox. It makes life easier and safer.
