About this item

  • This variety produces a four-lobed, thick-walled fruit that is mild and sweet and great for stuffing. Ever-bearing, upright plant produces fruits up to 4"x 4" wide. Like most peppers, the fruit starts green and will ripen to red if left on to grow longer (which is why red peppers cost more than green pepper at the store).
  • California Wonder will produce green bell peppers that will turn to red bell peppers over time. Place live plants in full sun to produce more flowers which will translate to more peppers.
  • Cal wonder green and red pepper live plants are upright 2 ft tall plants bear prolific fruits that are 4-5" long and almost the same width across and resistant to Tobacco Mosaic Viruss.
  • Peppers can be picked early to ripen indoors or left to ripen and change color on the vine. Using a knife or shears, carefully snip off peppers while leaving some stem attached to the fruit. If working with hot peppers, wear gloves to avoid skin contact with capsaicin.
  • Vegetable seeds grown in the USA. Seeds for planting vegetables and fruits. Great heirloom seeds for aerogarden seed pods or for ourdoor veggie garden
  • Germination rate: 91%. Test date: 9/27/2024. Non GMO seeds. Hand packed by Amy's Store LLC in the United States of America.

75-90 days. California Wonder 300 TMR Sweet Pepper Seeds. Capsicum annuum. Non-GMO plant seeds. Heirloom. The preeminent bell pepper seed and one of the most recognizable sweet peppers in the world, the classic green and red Cal Wonder truly is one of the easiest garden seeds to grow. Cal Wonder seeds produce delicious 3-4" squared sweet bell peppers known for their exceptionally thick, yet sweet and tender, pepper walls.
Pepper is a heat-loving crop that does not perform well in shade or cold soils. Seeds are best if started indoors 4-6 weeks prior to final spring frost for transplanting. Sow 2-3 seeds 1/4” deep per cell or peat pot in fertile, organically rich, and well-drained soil with a pH of 6.0-6.8. Germinates in 7-21 days, transplanting best starts 12-18” apart in the garden or one plant per container. Pepper plants thrive in pots and containers with a phosphorus-rich potting mix and will benefit from staking and support as they become top-heavy during fruit production.
All bell peppers start out green and change color as they mature. If it's not picked, a green pepper may become yellow, orange, or red, depending on its varietal. The longer the fruit stays on the vine, the sweeter it becomes and the more nutritional value it gains. Since they were less ripe when picked, green peppers have longer shelf lives but are less nutrient-dense than peppers that have matured to another color.

The seeds need to grow first! I'm hoping they taste as good as I remember.

Growing up I did this a lot with my mom but now that I'm older I kind of forgot how to do it and I've never done it on my own so this is my first packet and jalapenos are my favorite so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's going to work for me.I'll let you know.....Nice little starter packet

They are great! Mine grew sooo quickly. I just transplanted into soil so they are mad at me at the moment but they’re very healthy beautiful and how so quickly!! Definitely recommend! Their leaves were so springy and huge before I transplanted so don’t mind that they look droopy in the picture. The second picture is of them in the aero garden I’m trying out and they are the two on the far right side!

I've only just started this journey with getting the seedlings started, but you should find that they are great seeds which the majority will sprout. I've used seeds from my own peppers and only a seed or two will sprout, so I started with 2 dozen seeds just in case, and they just about all sprouted so I had to get rid of a few. You may find getting these started is challenging, thats because they need a temp of 80-90 degrees F, so I lay them on a moist piece of paper towel and put in a snack size ziplock back and lay it on top of my receiver that stays on and gives off decent heat. You might try taping next to a router, etc. Mine ended up sprouting in less than 7 days.

I’m pleased with my purchase. Most of them came up. I mean, there’s nothing special about them, but they arrived in a reasonable time, they sprouted. No complaints
