Detroit Diesel DD13 & DD15 Front Crankshaft Seal Remover and Installer Tool
Removal:
- 1.Fit the base (No.1) onto the oilseal, and tighten both bolts (No. 2)to fix the tool. Finally, turn thespindle (No.3) until the base(No.1) contacts the oil seal.2. Use theholes on the base(No.1) to tap a pair of symmetricalthreaded holes.
- 2.Use the holes on the base (No.1)to tap a pair of symmetrical threaded holes.
- 3.Tighten two screws (No.4) ontothe threaded holes, and turn the spindle (No.3) to pull out and remove theoil seal.
Installation:
- 1. Fit oll seal onto the crankshaft.
- 2.Fit the base (No.1) on the oil seal,and tighten both bolts (No.2). Andfinally turn spindle (No.3) to pressthe oil seal in to finish installation.

Bought this a couple years ago, I’ve used it a few times and each time it has installed the seal incorrectly, one section is always rises more than the rest, you can tap it in with something after so as a last resort it works but I would not recommend

The tool did not install the seal properly. Tried two different seals both times installed wrong. Used the OEM installer and installed perfect the first time. Would not recommend
