I have been meaning to get one of these for a while now. It’s very helpful to have moving and orienting rounds that need to be split. The length seemed long at first but I found it advantageous having a pickaroon slightly longer than my axe. The handle arrived with some cosmetic scratches and minor dents but in total intact. The steel head has a nice shine to it and a little tip cover that fell off in the packaging. Overall I relent took to have on hand. I expect this to last a long while.

Got this for my father who is getting older and does not want to bend over all the time when he is splitting wood on his gas powered splitter and is tickled with this thing!! He says the main worry is that it is so sharp and easy to enter logs that he worries about his leg (we did not tell mom about that!) No complaints here. He says it slips right into the logs and lets him lift them around then slip it right out at a angle pull. Great item!Packaging was well done and I do not see it breaking in transport.I would recommend this product at the price point of $65-75I received this product for review. I was not paid for my opinion, I have not been contacted by the seller, and my opinion is my own honest opinion for better or worse. The only difference between my normal reviews and my Vine reviews, are I try to go more in depth out of courtesy for others and in respect of the program itself. I also still have to pay taxes, actually use the product, and spend time writing this. I borrowed this initial format from another vine program reviewer, but did not get his name so whomever you are, thank you!!! My impression overall of the vine program as since the sellers know we are free to leave our honest opinion, they believe in their products before putting them into the program!! This is a good medium-sized pickaroon. The packaging says Made in India and handle is marked USA Hickory. It does appear to be genuine hickory handle. The 28" length is a good all-purpose length. The point is sharp enough to use easily with bigger logs but I'd prefer it a bit sharper to make sinking into smaller pieces a bit easier. The handle is attached to the head with a well made kerf cut, a wooden wedge and two metal barrel wedges. This is a pretty heavy-duty attachment and it gets used to lift a lot of firewood and rounds. So far so good.The older I get the more it is worth having the time and energy savings that a pickaroon offers for moving split firewood and unsplit rounds around. This is a productivity booster for managing firewood or even just bucking big trees.I'm not sure what makes this "platinum" but it does feel and behave like a high quality pickaroon. After a few passess with my file to sharpen the point a bit more, I cannot imagine spending $200 on a Stihl or Husqvarna pickaroon when this Forester is built extremely well and can do equally as good for a fraction of the cost.

Nice thick handle , it feels great on the hands . Works great to pick up the logs. Make it so much easier to move logs around. Very well made and you can feel the quality on the metal. Great tool to have

Like most people up here in the mountains, I have my share of chores that involve cutting down (or cutting up) trees for firewood or cleaning up after someone working to maintain the health of our forest. The FORESTER Platinum Pickaroon Logging Tool is something I wish I had ordered years ago. It’s sturdy hickory handle and sharp steel pointed pick make moving / dragging / rolling / stacking logs a breeze. At 28 inches in length, this logging tool is the ideal size for most firewood handling tasks. The pickaroon is well balanced and its overall construction is of high quality. The only thing I’d like to see in the finished product would be a rubberized grip / wrap for ease of handling. I’ll likely get some grip material here on Amazon and fashion it myself. In all, this is a great tool to have in your woodshed. It’ll make your firewood endeavors less of a chore. Its price is great for the value it brings. My very frugal neighbor ordered himself one. Now I need to figure out how to get mine back until his arrives.

Picked this up recently and it’s already earned a permanent spot in my woodshed's tool lineup. The handle is on the larger side—definitely built for folks who like a bit more leverage, and bigger sized hands—but that extra length gives it excellent reach, which makes grabbing and moving logs a breeze without bending over like a mom of 6 on laundry day.Construction is rock solid. The head is firmly attached, no wiggle or play even after some heavy use. It feels like one of those tools that’ll easily outlive me (and probably whoever finds it next).—if you need a pickaroon that means business, this one delivers reliability for picking all the roons you can pick, if a roon could pick wood!
