The computer controlled coating produces welds that represent the optimum balance between tensile strength and machinability. Typical applications include welding grades 30, 40 and 50 gray cast irons - all thicknesses in all positions. These welding rod are of a good quality but the packaging is of poor quality . The welding rod arrived in a non sealed packaging and rod arrived humid. Before using these rod they needed to be heated to be dried out.

I used them as is the first time. The flux made it hard to see. So I stripped the flux off and used them as TIG rods. It was my first cast iron repair and it was successful.

Not that there's anything wrong with these 55% nickel, doing cast iron on vertical face @ horizontal crack, these do not work well. I hopefully get some new rods that work better.

Not a professional welder. But used this to weld the tubes to the housingon a 2004 2500 14 bolt rear axleNot easy to hold a good weld pool. Definitely takes practice

they were easy to weld with once you got used to them I use them to weld engine block ear was missing off of block weld another
