Your cart is empty. The perfect accessory for the portrait photographer, the Fotodiox beauty dish uniquely diffuses light to provide high output with moderate feathering. Unlike a softbox or a reflector which has an "illuminating" surface, the beauty dish has a circle of light with an opaque center and an internal light shield that allows bounce-only lighting. How does the beauty dish compare to a softbox? As the beauty dish is smaller, it will result in less-soft shadows. It will also provide moderate round catch lights in the eyes, where a softbox will yield larger rectangular catch lights. The Fotodiox beauty dish uses a parabolic reflector in 80 degree angle to focus light towards a wrapped area.
The Fotodiox Pro Beauty Dishes also come with a diffusion 'sock' for further controlling the sharpness of shadows. You can use the soft diffuser cover and honeycomb grid to further change the light pattern, creating a wrapped, contrasted look, which adds a very dramatic effect. The Fotodiox 50° Honeycomb Grid (Sold Separately) contains the light to a more tubular pattern, for more of a spot light effect without light spill.

Bowens mount is super easy. I use this on the new Phottix Indra 360. Would have liked a slightly larger option say....22" but this is ok for now. Good price. Works well even without the baffle actually.

This item did not fit on my strobe lights even though it indicated that it would. The connecting ring seems to be the wrong size. I am currently in touch with Fotodiox to remedy the situation and will update after a solution is reached. Until then, I will postpone my final judgement and only give it two stars. Stay tuned...

Very solidly crafted. Came packaged well, which was my major concern, being that I ordered a larger beauty dish prior to this one and it came so horrifically beat up. So once I received the box, I opened it right away, with fear in my heart. It was perfect. No dents of dings, every part was there to put it together and I used it right away. Creates beautiful sculpted light. Definitely and mush have shaping tool.

i like the product, quality is good, but the screws were positioned strangely, had a struggle mounting the top part at first.also it has scratches all over it! so minus another star for that.to my pleasant surprise it arrived with a honey comb grid. the size is good but only for the head shot.

This dish speed rings you can easily swap allowing it to be compatible with my speed lights via Cheetah Stand Bowen based bracket and my Alien Bee head via another speed ring.
