This pump has a "dial-up" feature to make it have a stronger output. I attached this to an outside fountain and it does a fine job with the stronger output of moving the water through my terracotta fountain. It doesn't "blast" it into the air but makes a nice soft waterfall. Just got it and hope it lasts a long time.

I put together rocks in a large sturdy dish and this pump to create a bird fountain/ bath . Once the birds discovered it , it attracted very many , and the pump has never clogged or failed to run at the desired speed .

I bought this to use in my small outdoor fountain. My old pump had stopped running. I connected the tube on the new pump to the old tube and then put it all on the new pump and it works great! It runs so quietly and smooth. It is just the right amount of pressure for my fountain!

Just got, good flow, overall. Put in 15 gal fluval flex with Cardinals, Neons, a small Gourami and a male Half Moon Gumbo Betta. The Betta is finding new places to rest even in lowest flow rate. I put sponge over both outlets to reduce current, Betta is happy again.

We are not new to having back yard fountains, we have had them for over 30 years. We know the appropriate size pump and how to maintain the pump. This is our second purchase of this pump since May. The first pump died the third week in August. We were very disappointed, but have had trouble finding this size so we bought the same model receiving it August 30th. It died October 1st, can' return it as it is past the date, but wanted to warn other people that this is not a good, long lasting pump. In the past the smaller pumps have lasted a couple of years and we were happy to replace it at that time. It started out great, but just died after 4 weeks. Perhaps we just got a couple of bad pumps, but buyer beware!!
