This is the second one I received in this condition. The first one had missing pins because the top doesn't lock due to damage.

The thread wire case came broken. When I tried to open the opposite end I found out why you can't open it without breaking the hard plastic case. The thread wires were not labeled. I have used thread wires as shown in the picture for 40 years. I expected what I ordered as a back up set. What are these good for. They would be good to replace missing wires in your original thread wire set. These are useless junk it would be very easy to use the wrong size wires for what ever threads you are trying to mic. 25 dollars for junk. Fowler quality has been declining for years. How can you mess up on thread wires. Fowler can last Fowler product I will buy. Very disappointed.

Came with a chart and the wires look to be great but the case was already falling apart when I got it out of the packaging.

Thread wires are of decent quality, not bent and a good finish, they perform and read well. BUT, they come in a cheap plastic case covered in an excessive amount of thin oil, and the numbering for each size of wire is painted in small, gold numbers. The oil in the case has worn the numbering off the case for most of the wire sets, so in order to use them, I have to go through and measure each set until I've found the proper size.

Just like what was mentioned by a couple others, the text on the flimsy package was rubbed off by the time I received mine. And while the wires probably measure okay, you can buy the same quality set for $15 or less on Amazon. Spend a bit more and get something that has identifiable labeling, or spend a bit less and get something equivalent to this set.

Wires are precise! But within a week of opening the package, the wire size writing flaked off. Not a big deal, it just means I have to double check the wire size, which you should always do anyway.

as the wires are nice be care of the case. it is a PVC type of material and all of the seams failed. wires were dropped all over the floor, not a good thing.
