A while back I purchased these GI Type Leather Gloves as a replacement for a pair I was issued years ago (like over 20 years) when I was much younger and still in the military. Back then this style was issued with wool inserts for cold weather operations. My old gloves work like iron and served me well for many winters of outdoor work. Last year those old gloves finally wore out so I ordered these because they were the closest thing I could find to what I had. More specifically, they have a reinforced palm area. I had high hopes for the new gloves but I must say I am quite disappointed with the product. While the leather quality and construction seems decent, the fitting of the gloves isn’t great and I have average sized hands. The fit around the hand is fine but the fingers are about a half an inch too short, which makes them uncomfortable to wear. There’s no way I can comfortably wear them with thin fleece liners. I’d return them but I missed the refund window, which is totally my fault, so I’m stuck with them. Overall, I am very disappointed with this purchase. I had high hopes these would be suitable replacements for my old tried and true leather glove shells but alas they are not. I no longer have a great pair of old school MilSpec leather gloves and suffer with frigid phalanges.

I gave these three stars because they are well constructed and of good quality. These are superior to Rothco D-3A's, which I would rate as one star. However, the sizing is off. A size 5 does not fit with the glove liners. They fit as though sized without the glove liners in mind. I have ordered size 6 to go with the size 5 liners I normally wear. They should be oversized without the liners.

Bought these to go over liners. Size 5. Right hand glove is fine. Left hand glove is unusable with liners because the thumb is too small. Relative size of the two is shown in the attached photos.

Gloves are designed and fit very snug; kept my hands very warm. However, the fingers are very pudgy - like I have fat sausages for fingers when I'm trying to unlock a door or handle car keys. The excess leather around the finger tips aren't very helpful. Solid and durable craftsmanship, though!The original D3A's didn't have this fat-finger, excess-leather issue; my older set of D3A gloves conformed and fit to my fingers very snug after they were broken in.EDIT: Upgraded to 4 starsI quite honestly like these gloves VERY much. Still a bit awkward manipulating keys, etc, but they are solid. They have broken in to a point. Great buy, would recommend.

Nice quality leather that's suitable for work or dress wear. I think they are better than the GI gloves I had. Fit is as advertised for size 6 (XL), but the finger length is too long on pinkie & ring fingers. Order the wool inserts in same size if you want them for warmth.

These are the D3-A gloves to get. Way better than the cheap Rothco and other knock-off brands which fall apart almost immediately, and in no way are as good as military issue. These Fox gloves are a premium version of the D3-A, and are better than military spec.
