Come on FRAM... The FRAM product line has been a staple for many people who cannot afford the higher priced products who's prices are high for no reason other than a name. This filter was garbage in my opinion the rubber molding was barely attached to the filter so I expect it to rip after the first reuse and its molding was melted into the filter itself. If I purchased the defective parts and that is why i got such a good price well then that is how I feel like I did and I got the filter reject not the quality product I was looking for. Here is another one where the quality goes down and the price stays the same.

I installed it with no problem just like any other air filter I notice a little difference in my take off power when I backed out of my driveway so it seems to be doing its job. I just have to check out my MPGs and hopefully it does just like my K&Ns, and Spectre did for my other vehicles but just for less money.

Overall, a good filter at very good price. My issue was with the rubber seal around the outside of the filter. When it was molded, it was done so pretty poory. In order for it make a seal with the air box I had to trim it in quite a few places. I had to put about 30-45 minutes of work into it for it to function how it's intended to. If you're willing to put in some time for a good fit, then it's no big deal. It filters well, my mpg was slightly improved and it's reuseable...if not for the poor fit, I would have rated it at 5 stars.

I put this in my 2001 Grand Am 4cyl and it fit and does it's job. I only gave it 4 stars because I can't feel the difference from this filter to the old factory filter. However, I put a K&N filter in my other car and felt a slight performance increase. Maybe it's all in my head! This is a decent filter for the money.

I replaced OEM in my Chevy Malibu with this premium filter which is supposed to last 250,000 miles (!). Of course I won't keep it for more than a year because I don't believe in miracle products, but for now it looks & works like a quality / premium product that's an upgrade from regular OEM filter.

I got this filter because my old air filter in my 2000 Chevy Malibu was ready to be changed. It was fairly old and probably wasn't flowing very well. It was just a standard throw away filter. I really like the idea of getting a reusable air filter so that I didn't have to go out and buy new ones all the time. The fact that it claimed it was a high performance filter was a plus. The price of this filter was actually less then the price of a throw away filter for my car.I put this new filter in and it fit. The structure around this filter is much harder then the structure of the filter I had taken out of my car. It was a little difficult to get the air box closed on my car, but it wasn't impossible. To me, it makes sense that it has to be stronger and more durable if it is intended to last for the life of the car. Not really an issue at all for me. The first thing I noticed was the increase in throttle response and accelleration of my car with the new filter. Going from an old clogged filter to this one offered a big improvement for me. For the price, I would recommend this to anyone.

Certainly the lowest cost cleanable air filter I have seen for my 2001 Grand AM V6 3400 engine. It might just be the unit I got, but the black rubber surround was slightly thicker than the regular Fram air filter that uses a softer orange foam surround. And so it was harder to push this properly into place. But it does fit. Cleaning is easy. Air flow is very high. Though you can see the air holds as the fiber portion is low. So filtering properties are low. Dust will certainly make it inside the engine, but it keeps out larger particles that would be the real issue. Great air flow and long lasting with the ability to easily clean it. That with the low cost compared to K&N and other high airflow filters, makes this a good buy. I gave it 4/5 stars for the tighter than usual fit and for lower filtering properties than non-cleanable filters. But still an excellent filter.

With performance spark plugs and this filter I am getting 26% better gas mileage on my vehicle than I did with OEM parts. So now with 142k miles on my car I am getting the best mileage yet! Such a deal at this price, get it! No regrets!
