Loved the color but too small for my 7 year old. Luckily it was just the right size for my 3 year old, so we did keep it.

This is a basic stick. It's sized for younger kids who are just starting out with hockey. It's good for a game of shinny on the lake. I'm not sure this would be up the standards if your kids play AAA or something. But for an everyday practice stick, it's decent.

Couple things to keep in mind here. This stick won't be great for use on asphalt, street, etc. Stick to soft deck or ice here. The blade simply won't keep up. And remember to size appropriately (if on skates vs. feet, etc).That said, for a youth composite stick, this won't break the bank and has the benefit of the Franklin brand behind it. Great pick for a lightweight stick for my 4 year old to start with.

Fun stick for a little kid- boy or girl. Hockey is played by both genders. For brain development, and self esteem nothing beats getting kids into sports. I started off on a left handed stick. My Mom bought it for me, not realizing they come in right or left handed. I learned on it and developed that side of my brain on it. Even though I hockey left handed I golf right handed, throw baseball right handed, and kick soccer left dominant, and write right handed. I personally would recommend a left handed stick for a dominant right handed (writes right handed) kid and a right handed stick for a dominant left handed.

This stick seems a good flex at 50 for a junior stick, but may be just a pinch long at 55 inches. The grip is textured and tacky, almost “sticky” to the touch. It should be easy to hold and the player should be able to keep a secure grip on it while using it. Needless to say, I’m not a junior player and I’m not using it for play, but for decoration in our little garage family pub where every thing is red because we’ve named it the “Red Rooster Pub.” I liked the bright red and I’m going to place a Columbus Blue Jackets decal on the blade in red, white, and blue (even though their sticks are usually blue or white.) This is just the right length for our wall and will be a nice addition to our other hanging sports trivia. And after going to his first Blue Jackets game last week, our young grandson of 5 may even decide when he gets older to take it down and take it for a spin on the ice and try it out. Let’s go Jackets!

We’re a hockey family- my husband, son, and daughter play on competitive teams. Our youngest, who’s 4, has recently expressed interest in following in their footsteps and shoots around and stick handles in our driveway and in the basement. This stick is perfect for a beginner who wants the feel and function of a composite stick, without the price tag of a Bauer, CCM, or Warrior. The stick should be about nose height, and we had to cut this down slightly to be the proper height for my daughter, but it was very easy. She lives the lime green and feels like one of the big kids now.

He’s been switching sides so we are not sure which is going to be his dominate hand for hockey. He’s right handed and been using a left handed hockey stick. He is 9 and has both left and right handed sticks and uses both of them in practice. Nice quality stick.
