I purchased this kicking tee for an interesting alternative use. I'm a dressmaker and when I sew certain kinds of garments, I press my seams using a pressing ham--a ham-shaped stuffed cushion that permits you to press curves, such as darts and sleeve heads. Sometimes you need to use one corner of the pressing ham, but it's very difficult to hold the ham in the right position while manipulating your fabric and holding the iron, all at the same time. You can buy a special holder for a pressing ham, a wooden stand that costs around $30. But why bother when you can buy a football kicking tee for less than $5? It does the same thing, holding the pressing ham in whatever position you require.You do need to be careful not to touch the stand with your iron, as the plastic will melt. But if you pay attention to what you're doing, it shouldn't be a problem.Five stars and highly recommended--not for football players, but for those who sew!

For a $3 kicking tee it serves it's purpose. It is molded plastic and very light. It sits about 1" off the ground with the back spikes being about 2.5" tall. My only complaint is the back spikes. When my boys kick the football, the tee usually goes with it. They are using a junior league football though not a full sized one. And ironically enough, we bought this because the spikes were too short on the orange tee we had. It does hold the ball perfectly in place even though it is plastic so it does what it is supposed to!
