If you like cheesy sci-fi movies this one is excellent! Watched it when I was a kid and spent a long time looking for it. Received in great condition and played perfectly with great sound.

Freejack is still a blast after all these years. Sure, it had writing and acting weaknesses. Big deal. The flick is exciting, some of the performances are excellent, and I loved the digital stuff and the sets at the end.

I remember watching this on tv. I completely forgot about it until something on the internet reminded me of it. I had to buy it.

Finalmente un venditore che indichi chiaramente quante e quali lingue siano presenti nel testo della descrizione. Peccato che non fosse presente una foto della copertina posteriore (VENDITORI: METTETE SEMPRE UNA FOTO DELLA COPERTINA POSTERIORE IN MODO DA VEDERE QUALI E QUANTE LINGUE SIANO PRESENTI.. VENDERETE DI PIU'!).Ho voluto rischiare ed è andata bene. Grazie al venditore (Francese) che ha elencato esattamente le lingue audio nel testo! Davvero, grazie, non lo fa quasi nessuno ed è giusto essere riconoscenti per questo!Anche perchè.. se uno compra (a poco più di 10 euro) un DVD di un film del 1982 è un appassionato, e non lo fa per sapere come sia il film, ma per tenerlo per la sua collezione e la lingua italiana, le scene tagliate, i sottotitoli.. etc.. diventano fondamentali.Quindi, per quanto riguarda il film in se...andate su di un sito specifico per le recensione.. Vi posso dire al volo che è un film di fantascienza, tipico degli anni 80', fatto bene e con molte scene di azione, mooolte, ritmo molto sostenuto e buona storia. Curiosità: è presente Mick Jagger, non come comparsata, ha proprio un ruolo fondamentale nel film e devo dire che fa bene il suo lavoro.Per gli appassionati di fantascianza poi.. vedrete cose che al tempo erano solo idee..e che oggi sono tecnologia di tutti i giorni!Per quanto riguarda la qualità del DVD in se, vi lascio la foto delle due copertine, cosi vedete da soli.è un'edizione francese, arrivatami sigillata con tanto di plastica con scritte..in francese (mica tanto ovvio), audio in: Francese, Inglese ed Italiano, tutte e tre in Dolby Digital 5.1, cosa non male dato che è stato masterizzato nel 2002, con relativi sottotitoli ai quali si aggiungono anche quelli in Olandese, Spagnolo, Arabo e Tedesco. Nessun contenuto speciale se si esclude il trailer originale, ma era il 1982, non si può pretendere troppo.Audio molto buono e con un sistema 5.1 è stato molto piacevole anche se devo dire non ho badato troppo alla divisione dei canali audio, ma da una prima visione mi pare che fosse tutto a posto e che ci fossero relamente, anche perchè il mio decoder li rilevava tutti e..5 + 1...Per quanto riguarda la qualità video.. dunque, questione da considerare bene e con le giuste premesse.. per cui, siate pazienti. Una recensione mi porta via tempo per cui vediamo di inquadrare bene la cosa e dare un'idea un più "tecnica" a chi pensa che i millemilagigalioni di pixel siano tutto nella vita...Avendo io una discreta collezione di DVD (originali.. TUTTI!!!) ed essendo i televisori attuali tanto grandi da sdraiarcisi sopra..ho dovuto fare tempo fa una scelta che mi permettesse di vedere sia i Bluray (che hanno risoluzione 1920x1080 pixel), sia i dvd (che invece hanno 720x576 pixel) senza che ogni singolo pixel fosse grande come un pompelmo..Ragion per cui ho preso un lettore DVD/Bluray che riuscisse a fare l'UPSCALING dei DVD, portandoli ad una risoluzione, apparentemente uguale a quella di un Bluray, cioè in FULL-HD per intenderci, per poterli così guardare senza terribili perdite di qualità d'immagine anche su di un 55 pollici.Nota bene, la "perdita di qualità' di cui parlo è diciamo, apparente, in quanto a distanze di visione di un paio di metri, un 55 pollici su cui guardo una trasmissione in SD (standard definition ovvero 720x576) mostra dei pixel enormi. Questo accade perchè quell'immagine ha circa un quarto dei pixel per cui proiettata da un monitor in HD (1920x1080) quale è il mio, o tutti quelli ormai in commercio tranne i 4K, deve diciamo "raggruppare" 4 pixel in uno, con la conseguenza che usa per ogni pixel d'immagine del dvd quasi 4 pixel diacenti del display, facendoli però identici.Da qui il vedere il pixel enormi.. basta verere il canale FOCUS per capire di cosa parlo (per i tecnici, la cosa l'ho semplificata nei dettagli ma la sostanza è quella).Il mio lettore Bluray/DVD però fa una sorta di magia..in realtà un mare di calcoli fatti da un processore video di potenza inaudita (il mio è particolarmente potente ma il SONY D790 di 8 anni fa lo faceva praticamente allo stesso modo e costava sui 130 euro!), riesce a mettere i pixel dove non ci sono, facendo una sorta di media dei valori..e mi mostra un'immagine che "virtualmente" ha una risoluzione in Full HD, ma che deriva da un'immagine in SD..Tutto questo enorme giro per dirvi che..sul mio TV il film in questione si vede molto bene, niente a che vedere con qualità video di DVD allostato dell'arte ma..si guarda con piacere...anche su di un pannello da 55 pollici e ameno di 2 metri di distanza (degli occhi).Ovviamente se spengo l'upscler la cosa cambia...e molto...:) ma non lo spengo mai...se no addio alla collezione di DVD...:)

Freejack does the unthinkable under Geoff Murphy's direction- it somehow manages to rescue the little tiny jewels hidden underneath the simmering ashes of the first act, no thanks to a confusing screenplay, and revives the film as a whole revealing an altogether remarkable film with an interesting premise. It is very rare to see a film accomplish this, as once a movie starts out dull and weak, so it never really recovers. I think it's due to Murphy's experience at the helm, having directed The Quiet Earth, which was a little confusing and elusive but ultimately breathtaking in the end.Freejack also follows what I believe every good sci-fi film follows: a different idea, although far out, coming into fruition and making the audience think about that idea. The idea of marketing Man as another entity/property, is something you would never think of, but this film highlights this absurdity and plays through to the end as if it could really happen.Downsides to this film are Emilio Estevez in the lead role and Rene Russo, who seem to both be sleepwalking through this picture. Mick Jagger is always interesting to watch, though he also seems to be uninterested in what's going on around him at points. Still, through all the mishaps, cheesy dialogue, dated action sequences, and messy screenplay, I would still recommend this just to see come-from-behind directing that manages to save itself from presumptive irrelevance.

This one of the coolest sci-fi movies you will ever see, the whole concept of this movie is so fantastic, that who knows if it was ever possible. Life might be just like it was portrayed in the movie. great acting, by a whole bunch of great actors even Mr.Rolling stone himself wasn't bad in this movie. Although the the music of the Stones is what he will be remembered by not his acting. You won't be dissappointed even if you buy this movie un-seen, because when you do see it you'll agree with me I am sure.

I saw this originally at the movies, picked up the laser disk years ago, and now the DVD. It's one of my favorite campy Sci-Fi flicks. Big name actors in second rate rolls, pretty good special effects, a decent plot. Mick Jagger as a merc with plenty of gadgets and bizarre vehicles is a good opponent to "freejacked" race car driver Emilio Estevez. Estevez is grabbed through time at the moment of death (a freak race accident) - in a practice called FreeJacking. The result is supposed to be a flatlined brain with a healthy body. The wealthy few that can afford this service can then download their own consciousness into the new, young, healthy body. Immortality of a sort. Well, Estevez is not braindead (not in the movie anyway), and winds up as the prize in a power struggle between the two most powerful people on the planet - the #1 and #2 execs at the company that runs the whole FreeJack biz. A fun ride and worth the bucks.
