I love this standing coat rack. The base of it is very heavy so it can stay upright with weight wth no problem.Mt husband looks how it looks. Kind of retro. A simple design and perfectly functional.It doesn’t take up a lot of space and I also use this to hang our umbrellas on. It’s clearly very sturdy since it’s made of thick steel and the matte black color can match with pretty much anything.

This review is for Freestanding Coat Rack Tree-shaped Metal Coat Tree with Heavy Duty Marble Base Corner Clothing Rack for Bedroom Entryway Hallway 14.96 x 10.24 x 68.9 Inches (Black).I got this to replace a coat rack that had gotten wobbly. In addition to holding coats, the rack would be holding book bags and messenger bags filled with books, so I needed it to be heavy and sturdy. This product fits the bill. At 14 pounds, it's heavy enough to hold our bags. The rivets keep coats and bags from sliding off.The product is easy enough to assemble, but unpacking should probably be done somewhere with a tarp. The styrofoam falls to pieces and makes a tremendous mess. Additionally, the base is heavy, so people with strength issues should be prepared.Once assembled, the coat rack stands at a 90-degree angle (no tilting) and looks sleek and modern beside the door.

I found myself pretty impressed with the overall quality and sturdiness of this. It actually can hold a lot in a compact space. The design of this coat rack / tree makes it easy for my wife to travel with it during extended out of state work assignments as it doesn’t take up a ton of valuable cargo space when hauling unassembled. 6 screws and 4 nuts is all it takes to hold this together. Allen wrenches are provided for the screw heads, but no wrench for the nuts, and that is probably a good thing.The bottom tier tree metal baseplate is secured to the marble base with 4 screws and 4 acorn nuts. It is only necessary to get these snug by hand. Had they provided a wrench to hold the nuts, my guess is people would over-tighten the fasteners and crack the marble base.The top tier is secured to the bottom tier with 2 screws. The rectangular tubing of the two halves interlock, which makes them wobble free without having to over-tighten the screws.The paint on this is decent. If you scratch it, you probably abused it. The welds that hold the metal attaching base plate to the bottom tier are more than adequate, but could have been a little more complete. The only improvement I think would be for the manufacturer to have included washers for the base plate acorn nuts so as not to chip or scratch paint if the nuts spin when tightening.This does better standing on tile or hard flooring versus carpet, but we have it sitting on medium pile carpet. With 10lbs hanging on just one side, it barely wants to lean and doesn’t wobble. Under normal conditions with it more evenly loaded, it stands straight and wobble free. I had been looking at others that were half the cost and not the same quality but glad I went with this one. I believe it is worth it.

I was looking for a coat rack that was both stylish and sturdy, and this one fit the bill. The tree-shaped design is really cool and looks great in my entryway. The marble base is super heavy, so I don't have to worry about it tipping over, even with a lot of coats on it. It's also surprisingly easy to assemble. I had it put together in minutes. It holds a good number of coats and jackets without feeling crowded. Overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. It's a great value for the price.
