I had an older piece of ham radio equipment which was programmed via a serial port. I was able to mount this on the front panel and wire it to the internal serial port. Now I can use it with a modern computer!

The feel and construction of this item is superb. I use it as an aldl connection to my obd1 truck and it works flawlessly with my phone and aldldroid app.
