I purchased this for my 1997 Mitsubishi Montero SR and unfortunately it does not fit, which was not obvious from the product title. Upon further inspection, it lists the 01-06 Montero as compatible, but only the 97 Sport, which is a very different vehicle, so I cannot use this.The product though feels like very durable plastic with a firm metal spring that is rubber coated to prevent scratching the paint. The clip has a decent tooth on it to ensure it remains in place and doesn't pop out.
