This thing is adorable! Well made too. There are no loose stitches or funny smells. This would work well for little hands to play with, or as a chew toy. Or just something adorable to keep on a desk or a shelf.

I got this for my aunt who lives alone up north. I know she must feel lonely often and I just wanted to get her a little something that she could keep anywhere that she would see it every day. The hope is that every time she sees this it helps to brighten her mood and to know that I'm thinking about her. It's really well made and very cute! I would absolutely recommend it as a gift for someone since I think anyone would love this.

I can fit this darling turtle in the palm of my hand…but the love that it may represent could become a “forever” keepsake/reminder to a recipient!I actually gave this to my husband…A couple years back, before an important service…he stopped traffic to make sure a “mama” turtle and her sweet brood of young ones made it safely to the other side.From that point on, we reference turtles “in code”…(referencing his “call” to help save the turtles that surprising morning).This is just one example of how a fun memory might become a creative story to share occasionally!I preferred not to use the second statement on the mini signage - so just added a sticker instead.I could see this being given not just to a child** or to a “teen”…all the way on up to grown siblings, grandparents, or a special friend, (or, as in my case: my hubby).(**please keep in mind-the little eyes are buttons-and-while attached quite securely, giving it to someone very young should come with a customized assessment).An idea:If you don’t have a unique story about turtles…take a few minutes, find out some stunning facts about them, and “weave” that into your message that might bring a smile for years between you & the recipient…??!!I could easily see it becoming that “can’t leave home without it ‘friend’ “ for a younger child. While you might want to have them replace this over time—it might be better to have a little fellow than a large stuffed animal when riding ‘here & there’…Specifically, about the turtle itself…(while I have no idea how to crochet)—I think it was woven together with great care. The little sign was glued on in such a fashion, it is unlikely to ever fall off. The facial expression is full of warmth and love…able to touch hearts of any age!
