About this item

  • Safe and Automatic Transfer Switch - Furrion’s 50amp Automatic Transfer Switch has a built-in safe switch interlock system and is used to automatically switch between two separate 125 /250 volt AC power sources. These power sources can be from a Generator, shore power cord or inverter
  • Avoid Over-voltage - Provides an added feature of a mechanical interlock between contractors to ensure both contactors cannot be closed in parallel, preventing overvoltage on the output line.Casing Material: UL 94 Fireproof Plastic
  • Time Delay - Once AC power from the Generator is sensed by the transfer switch at Input 2 terminals, it will start a timer and automatically switch over to generator power supply after a 20-30 sec delay which ensures the generator has sufficient time to run up to speed before electrical load is applied.
  • Durable & Reliable: Designed with Furrion's proprietary VibrationSmart and ClimateSmart technologies, this ATS is built to withstand constant vibrations & extreme temperatures. Solid brass terminals are used to increase conductivity and reduce heat and are Nickel plated for corrosion resistance.
  • Highest Safety Standards - The Automatic Transfer Switch comes in a UL94 Flame retarded enclosure and is certified to UL Standards UL1008.

The new automatic transfer switch boast unrivaled safety features and reliability providing seamless automatic switching between dock/park power source and a boat generator or inverter.

I installed this in my 5th wheel under the kitchen counter right behind the fuse panel. Yes, you can detect à slight hum if you listen for it, but it's not noticeable. I keep forgetting to turn off my inverter because of that.I do need to find out how to bypass that 20 second delay! I use a 4000 watt inverter, not a generator, so the delay is just a nuisance.I'm presently on a month-long camping vacation. So far so good.

For a transfer switch, it's all about quality build and function. This meets both criteria with perfect marks.

installed the transfer switch. it tested fine. after about 2 weeks on the road the switch failed on shore power. I reset the breaker at the post and got power for another 24 hours. reset breaker at post and it lasted 12 hours under very light use on shore power. verified that all conections. it lasted 4 hrs on shore power. As I was on the road. I ordered another so that I would not have to move cables. It failed out of box. Is furion a lipart product? This transfer switch is junk. I am passed the 30 day return period when it failed. buy something else!

My house batteries did not charge properly even when hooked up to full shore power. AC units did not work either. When running the generator the ACs fired right up. After doing some digging I found out my transfer switch may be bad. This part works by switching from shore to generator power in your RV. These typically fail during power surges or power failures and are troublesome to get to. In my RV, (diesel pusher) it was located under my master bed. This was a straightforward install for me, but one must know what they are doing and have basic electrical knowledge. The hardest part was bending back the stiff electrical wires while putting them into my new transfer switch. It definitely can be a DIY project and you will probably save hundreds if not thousands in hourly labor costs to replace this. A few YouTube videos and looking on various RV forums will help.

Was concerned if this would fit in our Thor Hurricane Class A...no more concerns, worked great, no issues, followed instructions on replacing the previous one.

It fit and wired right in where old transfer switch had been. So far that was our problem and the new one works great.

Replaced an old IOTA unit with this one. Had to reroute and trim a few wires as the entry points were a little different but that was not a big deal. it is nice to know this has a mechanical transfer function that will not allow the switches to run parallel and cause a fire. My old switch had several signs of arching. Took about an hour to install, fired it up and everything worked great!

Our transfer switch burned up in our 5th wheel toy hauler. This was an easy replacement and the cost was reasonable. Time will tell how it holds up...

I have installed this in a solar/battery backup sytem in a home to run lights, fridge and freezer. Works perfect so far - newly installed. The switchover is instant - see a slight flicker in led bulb only. The internet, computer and other devices continue to run unaffected. Some reviews say it takes too long to switch - may need to flip the switch on the internal printed circuit board. It has a delay feature to allow a generator to normalize output before switching. If you are not using a generator as in my setup, there is no need for a delay.
