Our 25-year old futon mattress was constantly slipping down and hanging over the side. Thought we would have to get a new mattress but tried this first. It's amazing. It takes a few minutes to apply the strips and they work perfectly.

I have had a futon for decades and it always slipped. I tried these grip strips and they seem to work like magic. I put them on about 3 weeks ago and the futon has not budged an inch. I am eagerly waiting to see how long they will hold.

I was skeptical this idea for securing a futon mattress would work especially given how ill behaved my new mattress was - would not stay in folded couch position - but it unbelievably works perfectly. My new futon mattress stays securely in couch position and hasn't moved an inch since I installed this product on my frame.

I, LIKE MANY FUTON OWNERS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE MATTRESS SLIPPING OFF THE FRAME ON A DAILY BASIS. i HAD PURCHASED A NEW 8" MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS AND IT DID NOT BEND VERY WELL WHEN THE FUTON WAS IN THE UP POSITION, SO EVERY DAY I HAD TO WRESTLE THE MATTRESS BACK ONTO THE FRAME. i BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT HOPING IT WOULD HELP BUT WAS VERY SKEPTICLE IT WAS GOING TO WORK. MY MATTRESS COVER FITS VERY SNUGGLY AND IS VERY SLIPPERY AND i HAVE PLYWOOD ON THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE FUTON FRAME BECASUE SOME OF THE RUNGS HAD BROKEN.WELL I INSTALLED THE STRIPS, ( OH AND THE ADHESIVE IS REALLY REALLY STRONG SO GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME ) , PUT THE MATTRESS BACK ON THE FRAME AND IT HAS STAYED THERE FOR OVER A MONTH NOW,. THE MATTRESS HASN'T SHIFTED AT ALL. NO MORE STRUGGLING TO PUT IT BACK ON THE FRAME.HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS IF YOUR HAVING A SIMILAR ISSUE.

I was a little skeptical about whether these would work, and whether they would be worth the money. I hesitated for a month or two before buying them--as another reviewer said, the strips themselves don't seem like they're worth $25, but in terms of solving the issue of your futon mattress constantly sliding down, they are definitely worth $25.They are essentially very large foam strips with strong adhesive backing. I was worried they would seem cheap, but the adhesive is very strong and the foam is of good quality.Initially I was a little confused about how to put them on my futon frame, since my futon frame has thinner horizontal slats rather than the vertical slats the manufacturer shows in pictures and the manual. I ended up applying the entire strip to the nearest slat to the edge, with a good portion of the grip strips hanging off the edge. I was worried this would cause them not to work as well, but they work great!My futon mattress barely slides down at all now. It stays firmly in place which is great since we use our futon as our living room couch, so it gets a lot of use. The difference was felt immediately. I'm definitely glad I bought these!My only criticism is that I wish they were a little bit cheaper and that they came with clear instructions for installing these on futon frames with horizontal slats. In retrospect, I probably should have cut the strips into 2 horizontal strips and put them on 2 slats instead of one.

I purchased these when I bought a new futon mattress, which stated that these would be needed to keep the mattress in place. Simply put, they don't do their job.When you get a product that has "grip" in the name, you expect it to have some, well.....grip. These are nothing but thin foam strips with a sticky side to stick to the frame. My first impression was that the foam was much too slick, and that it wouldn't hold much at all. I was right. I frequently have to adjust my futon mattress due to it slipping down across the frame, right over the "grip strips".This product does not do what it was made to do. I have no use for useless things, and these were a waste of money. Hence, one star.I expect better out of a company that makes such a fine futon mattress.
