The cord is on the stiffer side and strong even when cutting with scissors. There are no instructions, but installation is easy. Just make a knot, thread through your attic ladder, thread through the pull, then make another knot to size. Cut off any excess you don't need. Easy, effective, and much easier to pull than just a cord. Not sure why give you four in a pack, so some will go to waste or give it to a neighbor.

Good value for money. One star off because the handles were not pre-knotted onto the ropes though I suppose at this price I shouldn’t complain. I had previously removed two garage door release pulls on the advice of a paranoid security guy and my attic pull handle has long since died, so I had use for three of them. Now I have two spares.
