Not much worse than getting ready to leave the home and the garage door won't open, and looking up you see broken springs. Rather than spending $800 to $1k for a repair person, I ordered these springs. Quick delivery, quality product with the tension bars and bearing. Took about 2 hours with the help of several YouTube instruction videos, but works like a champ.

Customer service is most important in any product, especially on-line order, and G.A.S. stand behind their product.Ordered 2 sets for family member and installed, paid different price, email them request price adjust and they did, plus receive call from them.As of quality, so far so good (see 7 years old from new door installer company vs. new with 3 years warranty from G.A.S.). I can tell the old style needs oil lubricate but the new one has different coating (time will tell).One on-line store quote for 171+20 S/H with 3 years warranty, I got much less with the same warranty. Will do business again and spread good words for them.You got what you paid for, don’t get cheap (***** SAFETY ALWAYS FIRST, don’t try do it by yourself if you don’t feel safe.

The springs were easy enough to install for my husband. We did notice a typo in the instructions that makes determining the number of turns required a bit harder. The correct formula is one full turn per foot of garage door height.
