I’m excited to have received the Afzdby Garden Mesh Netting with Drawstring, Plants Cover Protection bags. I will use some in the intended method of protecting plants from infestation of insects when they’re newly planted (and therefore newly discovered), but I’m also going to use some to put over a rain barrel onto which a downspout dumps water & everything coming off the roof. I can put a mesh screening over the opening, under the netting, to help support the impact of the weight of the water, roof granules, acorns, & etc., coming off the roof, but expect this will also help protect the barrel’s plastic from UV exposure. The bag & drawstring coming down low means it will be less likely to get blown off in the wind, (as has happened with a different style barrel cover that I used before). The other one was dark and did not last a year in the sunlight, so I’m hoping that by these instead being white, more sunlight will be reflected, so less UV rays will be absorbed = better longevity. Time will tell.

I purchased the Afzdby Garden Mesh Netting to protect my tomato plants from insects and birds, and I have been very impressed with its quality and effectiveness. Every year, I struggle with pests damaging my plants before I can even harvest them. This netting has provided an excellent solution, keeping unwanted critters at bay while allowing my plants to thrive.High-Quality Material & Strong Design: The fine mesh netting is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), making it lightweight yet extremely durable. Unlike some cheaper nets that can tear easily, this material feels strong and well-constructed. The mesh is fine enough to keep out insects like aphids, cicadas, and Japanese beetles, yet breathable enough to allow sunlight and water to reach my plants.Easy to Use & Adjustable Fit: One of the standout features is the zipper and drawstring closure, which makes it easy to secure around plants of different sizes. I found it especially useful for my tomato plants, blueberry bushes, and citrus trees. The drawstring at the bottom ensures a snug fit around pots or raised beds, preventing small critters from sneaking in. It also makes it simple to remove for watering, pruning, or harvesting.Protects Against Birds & Squirrels: Aside from insects, I’ve had issues with birds and squirrels stealing my tomatoes. We are using these for protecting fruit and berry bearing bushes from critters. So far they are doing a very good job. As long as you use these on plants that will fit completely into the bag, they are very easy to install, which I guess is a no-brainer. No problems with getting sun to the plants, but we get a lot of sun here. Will probably get more these in the future in a variety of sizes. No issues to date.

I am very excited to use this set of 4 large net mesh cover bags in my vegetable garden. This past year we had been hit with an unusual amount of pest pressure that really took its toll in our short season vegetable garden. Any one who gardens knows that feeling of working so hard to grow something and then almost overnight finding out some bugs have essentially decimated your hard work. It’s crushing! Our extension service recommended using breathable mesh netting/covers during particular infestations, in our case blister beetles and Japanese beetles. Having these very soft and breathable larger nets, approx. 31 x39” allows us to cover and gently tie of the bottoms to help some of our more susceptible plants survive and thrive until that particular pest has moved on. I love how easy and soft they are to put over a plant or cage; offering protection from the bugs yet allowing sun and rain to penetrate the netting. The quality is very good and the design is very functional; especially if you need to do a quick cover of a plant. Based on their quality, I will be able to use these for many gardening seasons ahead. I am very, very happy with these net covers and can recommend them highly.

Last year I used a garbage bag to protect my tomato plants from deer. While it was a solution that worked, I would have to remove the bag in the morning and replace it every night. If I forgot to replace the bag, I'd wake up the next morning to destruction. All that hard work GONE!Now with this fine mesh netting, my days of forgetfulness about replacing the proactive covering are over. Here, you place your plant, pot included, into the bag. It's got enough room for growth. Plus, you can water your plants without having to remove the covering at all. Need to add some plant food or slug repellent? Want to harvest that giant beefsteak tomato? These mesh bags unzip for easier access.Not just will these bags repel larger animals, the mesh is small enough to keep even a tiny aphid from eating your crop! Can be used on larger plants like bushes and trees. I only wish that I could have ordered these in a quantity greater than 2 per set.
