I got this to ensure there were no gas leaks with my appliances. It takes about 30 seconds to calibrate, but after that, it is supposed to detect even the faintest gas leaks.Returning this as I do not think it works, I tried putting on the gas stove and pointing this towards it but not beeps.

Helpful to check regularly water heater, stove and furnace if there is any leak. It detects the leak but you need to hold it couple of seconds as it takes to detect. It easy functions.

Smelled a little funny in the cabinets under my stove, and gas leak detector immediately went off. So for me the good news it works. Set up was very easy. First I tested it using the stove without the flame to confirm it works. Then later tested it in the cabinets. Next step is figuring out where the leak is, but at least I was able to confirm step 1

Great little device. It detected a gas leak and we were able to take care of it promptly. It could have been a disaster. Easy to use. Everyone should buy one of these!

It works but it takes a while to sense natural gas. After waiting for the initial start up. I tried this on my gas stove and with a known leak that was tagged on some of my pipes a while ago. On the most sensitive setting for this device, It took about 20 seconds for this to go off when I had my burner going without a flame and this was placed next to the gas source. I smelled it within 4 seconds. On the gas pipe leak it took about 15-20 seconds for it to beep, if I held it right on the leak. So this would make it really hard to troubleshoot a leak in my opinion. It did a better job detecting Butane from a lighter. This is the first one of these I've owned and maybe for this price point, it's worth it.

I recently did a repair on an propane refrigerator, the picture with bubbles was before the repair. I've wanted to be able to check it parodically since then, but getting behind the refrigerator and using bubbles makes it less likely to happen. With this Leak Detector I can reach behind the refrigerator and check it.The Leak Detector alerted from fumes on gasoline, a 1 lb bottle of propane, a butane lighter, and a 20 lb bottle of propane. I know that the 20 lb bottle of propane is empty, so there was very little pressure coming from that tank.My only concern is the Low Sensitivity setting, meaning the Leak Detector will only alert to a greater volume of leakage. The way to tell your in Low or High Sensitivity is that the button with the S is lit or not lit.In that Low Sensitivity setting you wont need a leak detector, you'll be able to clearly smell fumes. The alerts were not instant, it took several seconds and it states that in the directions. This is a great addition to my tool box, good value for the piece of mind, and its rechargeable!I'll probably find a small hard case to put it in so I don't lose the charging cord or get trash in the sensor head.
