This is the second time I've ordered this pumice rock. The first time was great - they just needed a rinse and were ready to go.The second time I went through the same process, except there's a new soapy smell to the rocks (even after rinsing thoroughly). I'm using these with carnivorous plants, so I'm concerned that there may be some chemical residue on them. I can't think of any other reason for the odor.The description says plant safe and all natural, but I'm a bit in doubt now. No idea why this bag of rock smells the way it does, and why the other didn't.. Hopefully my plants aren't harmed by whatever it is!

Very Happy with purchase You’ll have to rinse stones before use. I find 5 Ibs bag is pricey delivered quickly and easy to apply top dressing for plants and Cactus

Look this is an easy install and auto include to any cactai based plant. The look is lova rocks there is nothing to say. The value for money is fanaminal. The color is as shown. Black and some brown. The weight is listed. And the fucionality my plants love lava rocks.

The lava rocks are just the right size and work perfectly as an additive for my plant soil. They provide great aeration and drainage, making them ideal for succulents and other potted plants. However, the packaging was quite basic, and there was a lot of dust when I opened it. I had to rinse the rocks thoroughly before using them to avoid getting my room too dusty.

These are pricey but they are the perfect size for ebb and flow hydro if you like lava rock as a medium.

So I used it unconventionally, as miniature coal for krampus bottles. It was much more affordable than buying craft-specific coal that miniature sellers have. My only complaint is that once the gravel was exposed to air it would turn a bit grey. I had to re-paint the gravel black.
