Gates makes the GM part, so these are 100% the same. The only difference is GM mills the part number casting off of the part. Same is true of the tensioner, so dont bother spending twice as much for the exact same part. Always replace the belts when doing this job- they are a stretch on version and if you dont do the AC and vacuum pump belt at the same time you will end up having to remove the water pump belt again anyway when they go out. My water pump only lasted 50K miles then dramatically failed. 6 M8 bolts and its off in 20 minutes. You almost never need to replace the entire casting assembly, which is what the dealer wants to charge you 1850$ for. 1.5 hour job all in including flushing the cooling system, which you need to do to remove any debris.

This gates water pump was 1/2 the price of what I could get it for locally. The pump seems to be working fine and installed as expected. The issue is that Amazon sent me an obviously restocked item that someone took the gasket out of and inserted a damaged gasket. The shipping box was fine, the factor water pump box was beat up and had been previously opened. The gasket bag had been opened and some of the bolts were loosing rolling around in the box. The gasket was creased on on side, not useable. I had to buy a new gasket locally as I didn't notice this until I had the water pump out and was getting ready to install the new one.Look at the gasket when you get this and make sure it's not damaged or you might have to do the job twice... I couldn't return this because I needed the truck running this day. Buying the gasket locally was still cheaper than buying the whole kit locally but it did cost me time and extra money.AMAZON, com'mon, restocked items should not be sold as new!

This was a perfect fit on a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT. It also came with a new gasket, and new bolts covered in lock tight. Torque @ 89 INCH pounds. You may also want to buy some 3M Black Super Weatherstrip and Gasket Adhesive to keep the gasket in place while installing the pump.The pump is separate from the housing, unless something crazy happened, you only need to replace this part (the pump).You will need to take the belt off - that is done with a 1/2 breaker bar.You may want to go ahead and replace the belt. Save the old one for emergencies if you see nothing wrong with it.Coolant - Pick your poison, but I used a 50/50 with dexcool and everything is running smooth.Thermostat and housing - might as well! Dorman 902-2090 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly fit the truck perfect.Head to Harbor Freight and get a torque wrench that dials in INCH pounds. This is not a hard project to do, even buying all the tools and equipment, you will still have yourself 100's of dollars doing it yourself. Check YouTube for how to videos. Took me about three hours.
