I just received my timing belt kit and it looks like good quality but it’s missing the tensioner. Update: i requested a replacement and i just received it, this one came with the tensioner!

Everything fit as expected. When it comes to somthing like timing components its well worth the little extra to get gates vs a chineese knockoff.

Bought the exact kit back in 2020 and installed on my 2001 Audi TT Quattro 225 with the AMU engine. The kit was amazing and easy to install.This time the kit was different. The idler pulley and the tensioner is different. The part numbers haven’t changed and the pictures provided on the product description are correct but the items received are incorrect.To the box packers: Before you throw random parts in the box labeled with the correct part number, maybe you should verify if the individual parts match before sealing it.This mistake put my new project behind schedule by a week now.

Installed on a 2003 VW Jetta 1.8t Wolfsburg Edition. The timing belt tensioner would not fit, bad machining. The tensioner, held in with two 10MM bolts which would not align due to out of spec machining of part. Had to go to local auto store to procure new timing belt tensioner which fit perfect. Belt, water pump fit and function as expected.

Perfect fit for the 1.8t engine. Mine was engine code AWW.Looks like they drilled out the bottom hole bigger on the tensioner. No longer requires any modification to fit. Thank you.Mine came with the metal impeller water pump.So far so good. I’ll update this is any problems arise.

Good quality parts, metal impeller on the water pump. This kit worked well on my 2002 Audi TT Quatro. The only issue was with the belt tensioner. The hole pattern was a little off. Just enough that I couldn't get the screw started (right around 0.05" (1.25 mm) or so. Ended up drilling the lower hole out a little bigger and it bolted up just fine.

So far so good. Installed this water pump and timing belt kit along with a new head gasket and then drove it to Las Vegas from Bremerton Washington. No problems at all.

I was changing out my water pump and decided to go ahead and replace everything down there. This kit did the trick. Excellent parts. They were direct replacements for the parts on my 2004 VW Jetta (1.8T). Can't go wrong here. If you're going to do all that work to get at the water pump go ahead and put a metal impeller in there (the plastic ones are known to break up causing zero/low coolant flow and engine overheating) and change out the timing belt and tensioning hardware. Do it right once and don't worry about it later.I did this entire replacement because my Jetta was overheating. I figured the impeller had cracked and I wasn't getting any flow. Turns out the impeller was fine, the thermostat was just stuck. But hey, at least I never have to question the water pump again now and the timing belt was nearing the recommended replacement mileage too.Also just FYI: when you replace the thermostat, at least on the 2004 VW Jetta 1.8T engine, the new gasket seal goes around the plastic thermostat housing, not inside the hole over the thermostat. So the seal goes between the block and the housing, not between the thermostat and the housing. Probably a no-brainer for everybody but I did it wrong the first time and ended up having to dig it back out because it was leaking. I put a few dabs of silicone on the housing to hold the rubber seal in place while reattaching it. ;)

Installed this in my 2000 gti 1.8t AWD engine block took 10 hours however everything went together well. I've had this for 3 months so far and the belt has never jumped or failed. Just make sure to double and triple check the timing or you may end up with a catastrophic failure.
