My wife and I ordered the model GE PHP9036DT2BB 36" induction cooktop through Amazon on February 3, 2025. Our cooktop was shipped from the seller, Applied Distributors Unlimited, and arrived on February 11th. The cooktop was very well packaged and comes with very good instructions and specifications clearly written regarding its installation. Unfortunately, on examining the cooktop closely following its installation we discovered small microcracks in the glass surface radiating out from one of the five burners. We contacted the seller regarding the defect and within a day the seller refunded our purchase and offered a replacement unit. We tried contacting GE regarding resolving the problem through GE since the cooktop was covered under the warranty that comes with the cooktop, but they declined to help stating that since the cooktop wasn't bought directly through their company that they weren't in a position to resolve the issue. The fact that Appliance Distributors Unlimited stepped up in this situation seems to me very credible and for this reason I am giving this seller five stars. It is to this seller's credit that they stepped up in helping us with this issue. I am not sure why, but Amazon doesn't back up any problems with the cooktop once the item is purchased through them. We tried, but they said we would have to take the issue up with either GE or the seller. That part of the transaction was a little disappointing. As for the cooktop, itself, it is highly rated in Consumer Reports, and that is why we purchased it in the first place.

I purchased this GE induction stovetop in September 2023, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare from day one. The product, which is supposedly known for its advanced technology and efficiency, has proven to be nothing but a source of frustration and disappointment. From the beginning, the stovetop exhibited issues with inconsistent heating, leading to uneven cooking and extraordinary long cook times (it takes forever to even boil water). Not all of the burners worked, and the ones that did were barely hot enough to cook anything. As a consumer who paid a premium for not only a supposedly top-of-the-line product, but also for replacing my entire cookware collection for an “induction friendly” one, I expected a smooth and reliable cooking experience. Unfortunately, the GE induction stovetop failed to meet even the most basic expectations. After 3 months of constant issues, I reached out to Amazon’s customer service in an attempt to resolve the problem (I would have reached out sooner, but we were in the middle of prepping for my daughter’s December wedding, and then my husband became ill, which significantly reduced how often we cooked at home). However, we were told by Amazon to contact GE directly due to the 30-day return deadline expiring. I connected with GE’s customer service and was met with a level of incompetence that left me utterly shocked. A representative was dispatched to my house, presumably to assess and fix the problems. He suggested adding a device to help with the connection, and advised that he would return to install it. He returned a separate day to install the device, and we were told that he was mistaken and it would, in fact, not solve our issue. He let us know that another representative/technician will be dispatched to our home (for the third time) to help fix the stovetop. However, instead of providing any helpful solutions, the 3rd representative displayed an appalling level of rudeness and nonchalance. Not only did he fail to address the technical issues with the stovetop (which he saw with his own eyes), but he also had the audacity to inform me that there was "nothing he could do" to rectify the situation, and instead suggested that the problem must be our cookware. This dismissive attitude and lack of accountability is inexcusable, especially considering the premium price tag attached to GE's products (mind you, this is a $2,000 purchase!!).I expected better from a company like GE, but my experience has left me questioning the quality of their products and the competence of their customer service team. I have not been able to cook for my family in months, and we are still waiting for ANY response or solution from GE and/or Amazon (who is equally responsible as the retailer we purchased the product from). While we initially just wanted our stovetop fixed or replaced, this experience has left us not wanting ANYTHING to do with GE, or any kind of induction stovetop whatsoever. If you are considering purchasing a GE induction stovetop, I strongly advise against it, unless you enjoy the prospect of wasting your money on a $2,000 malfunctioning appliance and dealing with unhelpful and impolite representatives. Save yourself the trouble and explore other brands that prioritize customer satisfaction and product quality - and definitely do not depend on Amazon to rectify or do anything about receiving a defective product from them. What a disaster.

Induction stovetop works great. It heats water faster than the gas burners on the stovetop it replaced.Easy to clean. No annoying clicking from gas ignitors. No indoor air quality issues. All of these features played into making the change from gas to induction. It did require having an electrician wire for 220 V with enough amperage. We have used this stove for nearly a year and continue to be happy with this purchase.
