As a mechanic the gearwrench 120xp ratchets are my go to ratchet. I love using them everyday. The soft grip is easy on my hands . The slim head of the ratchet fits into spots my regular ratchets don't. They have a very long handle that helps me break tough bolts loose.

I like these as much as I do my snap on fine tooth ratchets. They do well, haven’t broke one yet . I own them from 1/4” to 1/2” drive long handle .

Very bummed about this ratchet, I use a lot of gear wrench products and added this ratchet to my collection. After approximately 5 hours of use it just froze up, no longer ratchets, can't throw it into reverse, it's just locked up.Amazon will not replace it, Gear wrenches on line return system isn't supported in the USA... Looks like I'm burnt...

I purchased the 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" 120XP ratchets and they are beautifully designed, built and finished ...with a couple of questionable issues. I don't view the slightly proud switch lever or the really short length of the 1/4' to be a real issue, but when I opened the ratchets up, I was very disappointed to see only 6 of the 10 pawl teeth fully engaging the main gear, as that's going to significantly reduce it's strength. Also, the engagement ball is weirdly set too far forward on the anvil causing sockets to sit out much further than they need to. I've included a couple of pics showing the difference between my old 84 tooth GW ratchet, and the standoff is really noticeable ...will it prove to be a weal point, only time will tell, but a little disappointing.

It's a really nice ratchet. Very compact head, fine tooth. It's got a nice long handle. But it completely jammed up within the first week. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and have to take it apart 3 times so far becuase the pawls somehow end up moving independantly of each other and it completely binds up and won't ratchet at all. I work away so I have no choice but to keep dealing with it for now. When I'm home I'll try to warranty it. I'm not sure if I just got a bad one, or if this is what they're like. I'm using it professionally, but never abused it. I wasn't breaking a bolt free any of the times it jammed either.

I had to send the 1st one in for warranty but I followed the GW warranty filled out the form and snapped a picture and it was promply replaced with no hassle and shipping was refunded. I absolutely love the ratchet. Great length for extra leverage and the 120 tooth gears are smooth and flawless. It's great for tight spots with a little room for loosening or tightening fasteners. It's my favorite 1/4" ratchet. Buy this! You will love it.

Nice and smooth mechanism, the head is also much smaller compared to the 90 and 84 tooth ratchets they offer which is perfect in tight spaces.
