I used this on a 2003 Tahoe with 8.6” rear diff. On the first one, I left the seal in place because I saw on YouTube this trick that would remove both in one swoop. It worked pretty well! On the second one I was determined to see if I could remove the seal on its own since that’s why I was here. So without the seal, for some reason the puller was more difficult to center in the bearing. Well, one side of the puller had no grip on the cage of the bearing, only the rollers. The outboard of the cage shattered. I used the 3 prong puller attachment from my slide hammer to get it out. Thankfully it worked. You see, the problem is the largest size was just a tad too big and could not be fully straightened out. The middle size I used was a skosh too small. There is a specialty puller attachment made for this axle (J44685) but it’s super expensive and hard to find.Overall good quality but I’d pass if this is the vehicle you’re working on.

This bearing puller worked great. What made it work was it has a nut and washer that tightens to the bearing and using the slide hammer it came out with a few pulls. The previous slide hammer bearing puller did not have the option of a nut to tighten to the bearing. It just went behind the bearing. I just broke off pieces of the bearing. It worked great for me.

Although I haven't used these tools yet, they are above and beyond the chinesium junk bearing puller set I broke on the first use. Beefy components, a nice case to store them in, should give me years of hassle free use.

I used this Rear Axle Bearing Puller Set with the GearWrench 5 pound reverse slide hammer (not Included) to easily remove the bearings from my rear axel without need for a torch or heat. Very solid tools. Fast delivery, well packaged. A great solution to a difficult project.

Bought kit to remove axle bearings using a slide hammer. Worked without issues. I've heard of cheaper variants only lasting a few hits. This puller is unscathed. Would recommend

The GEARWRENCH 3 Pc. Rear Axle Bearing Puller Set - 41710Worked great!I have never needed to use tour before. I used it on a 1998 GMC K1500 4 x 4 pick up.The rear axle bearings were leaking. I use this tool to pull them out and the sealed. And it worked great. I had a slide hammer that I had purchased years ago to do bodywork, and things of that nature they never needed to use an axle bearing puller. This tool worked exactly the way it was designed. I had no problems with it, it pulled it out with ease. I highly recommend it. God bless whoever’s reading this. May the job that you’re about to attempt go as easy as this one dead take care.

Great product for removing bearings from a vehicle. The only thing that I can recommend is that you make sure that you are seated properly on the bearing or races b4 you use slide hammer. Also have a 22 mm wrench on standby for Re tightening the jam nut when it comes loose so it doesn’t score the wall of your system if it slips away from the bearing

Axle Bearing Puller uses a 5/16 x 18 tpi thread , for which I was able to get a 2 foot threaded rod to make a complete home made diy puller. I then extracted the boat gimbal bearing out with no problem . Item worked well and did not bend. Used the smallest puller in this application.Gimbal is on the end of the puller .....

I had purchased the...um...Hazard Fraught version of this tool. I lent it to a friend who needed to replace axle bearings on his Chevy Avalanche. He broke the size he used, as he put it, on the first pull with the slide hammer. He apologetically gave me half the value of that set towards purchasing another set, since it was beyond its warranty. I bought the GearWrench set with that money. The GearWrench set has been excellent. I have used it on two vehicles where I have had to really slam the slide hammer and they have worked as they should, with no breakage. I'm confident these are quality tools, and the warranty helps stand behind that. For a tool that has a high risk of breakage when being used correctly, a good warranty suggests the manufacturer believes the product will actually stand up to a fair bit of abuse beyond just what is intended.

Worked awesome for pulling rear axle bearing and seal out on my 2009 Ford Ranger 2WD. Comes in a nice plastic box to keep them organized. Great product and excellent quality! Great investment. Don't forget you need a slide hammer (or some other puller) to thread onto it. I borrowed one from Canadian Tire for free.
