Why Need a Hammock Under Quilt?

  • A portable under quilt add serious insulation to your hammock setup for a warmer night sleep.
  • An under quilt fits underneath your hammock, you won't roll off of it when you move at night and it won't slide off your hammock. Hammock quilts are designed to fit under a hammock so you can only use them with a hammock.

How to Set Up an Hammock Under quilt ?

Hanging an under quilt takes less than 5 minutes, but you need to get it correct, so you are not cold while you are sleeping.

  • Unpack the under quilt, allow it to loft and locate the two ends of the quilt
  • Attach the two ends of the under quilt to your hammock suspension system using the included shock cord, Carabiners
  • Adjust the under quilt backward and forward, so the loftiest section is positioned directly underneath where you sleepC
  • limb into the hammock and tweak the placement of the quilt to ensure your head, torso, and feet are covered by the quilt

Gostei muito. Não utilizo em frio inferior a 10°C, mas fiquei confortável nessa temperatura. Precisando apenas uma coberta para me cobrir.

I purchased this and a more expensive underquilt from Onetigris (even among the Onetigris options). Both underquilts would benefit from some quick DIY reinforced stitching where the sides begin to separate (takes a couple mins). The GeerTop was $20 less and is lighter, loftier, and plusher compared to the Onetigris product. The stitching might be a bit more accurate on the Onetigris, but that is based on just one underquilt from each brand, and the difference is minor. The GeerTop is several inches wider at the widest point. Both are about the same length. Overall, I'd go for the GeerTop, especially if you need the warmer option.By the way, there are a lot of people leaving reviews that the product is horrible and doesn't support their weight. I really don't know what to say other than this is not a hammock nor is it intended to be, and I can't fathom how anyone would even think to try it as a hammock after having it in hand, so please ignore the majority of those 1 star reviews. Of course the carabiners and 2 mm bungee cords aren't load bearing. It is an underquilt, which HANGS UNDER your hammock.

I bought this for a 9’ 6” hammock with bug net - this underquilt is a perfect fit.It clips right to the hammocks suspension and hugs the hammock so there is very little need to adjust it.It works great as a wind block and was comfortable down into the high 40’s.It is lightweight and compresses very well in the included stuff sack. For what I needed it is perfect, would definitely recommend getting this for Spring to Fall.

It's synthetic, top notch piece of gear. The seamstress did a good job on mine.Paired with a 800 down field top quilt, cozy as a bug in a rug@28°f packs down small too, little bit bigger than a roll of TP 👍

Spent a weekend camping with this. It got down to 37F one night and I was cozy in this and a couple fleece blankets.Very simply clips to my ENO hammock and stuffs into its sack just as easily. Can be rolled to a slightly smaller pack and cinched down fairly smallAfter one camp; no downside. Would def buy again! Highly recommended.

I got it to use with my short hammocks. It is super easy to set up, just clip it on to either end of the hammock, and make sure the hammock is centered inside the underquilt. I used it to 40* F and found it to not be warm enough. I think it would be comfortable down to about 50*. I'll work out a way to put a Poncho liner in for when it gets cooler. The fabric is an interesting and pleasant texture, and a simple tug pulls the underquilt around your body. Comes in two dreadful colors.

This increased my camping season by at least 2-3 months (in temperate, central US, vs. prior set up with R3.5 sleeping pad an 0F bag in hammock, typically tarped to block wind)Been hesitant to buy an underquilt because the name brand/down quilts are $$$$, and was worried a value quilt wouldn't be worth it. Bought this one to try it out. Camped two nights with it already and had success; in both cases I was also in a 0F (Amazon special) sleeping bag.-low in the upper 20s (-2C) with a 20mph wind on the Missouri river (real feel ~20F (-6C)with a tarp to block wind-low in the in upper 20s (-2C) with little wind on a creek, no tarp overhead, warm all night, woke with heavy frost/light ice on the outside of the quiltI planned to put my sleeping pad in the hammock to increase R value, and found this difficult. Regardless, it was not needed for the conditions I experienced. In the described conditions I was very comfortable and didn't feel I was pushing the limit of the gear.

I hammock indoors and outdoors (in a tent w/stand) with an ENO TechNest and ENO Parkway stand; I recently purchased this underquilt in preparation for cold months. I used it at a weekend festival where the temps dropped to mid-40s overnight. I was super snug with the underquilt + fleece blanket in the tent. At home, the underquilt adds a layer of comfort and keeps drafts off my back. In a punch, this would also serve as a very warm blanket if needed.Only con would be the stuff sack it comes with doesn’t compress as small as this should be able to. I think with a better designed stuff sack it will compress even more compactly. I’m very happy with the quality and price.

In terms of quality, this item is pretty good - obviously not a 4 season solution, but definitely a 2-3.The only issue I had is it doesn’t work very well with a diagonal/asym lay, but a gem for the standard banana setups. Since the ends are closed in a V shape, they can’t be stretched in any direction- so you’ll end up with the feet outside it all the time.Another plus is it’s extremely packable, great for bike packing for example.Even if it’s not perfect for me, I still think it’s worth 5 stars based on the price, overall quality and warmth.
