To cause a star, rutile needles form in tight, parallel clusters. The reflection of each group of crystals forms a straight line that appears to float on the surface of the stone. There are always three groups of crystals that intersect at a 60 degree angle to each other. The three lines formed meet in the center to form the appearance of a 6-rayed star.

Horrible. Looks nothing at all like the picture and they can even print you a return label for shipping.Ripped off and lost my money for some garbage stone. :(
