Education About Star Gemstones :-

Star sapphire

6 Rays-Star Blue Sapphire :-

Star Sapphire has a long and fascinating history of being highly coveted and prized as a highly distinctive and unique gemstone. Ideally, the star in a star sapphire should be perfectly focused, with each beam of equal length, when viewed from above. The rays should be bright, sharp, and clearly defined—not blurry or hazy—and they should reach from the crown of the cabochon to the base without interruption.

Pink star sapphire

6 Rays-Star Pink Ruby :-

Ruby is classified as a pink form of gemstone-quality corundum; All other color varieties of corundum are referred to as sapphires. .Star ruby is a rare variety of ruby that exhibits asterisms; A six-rayed star that twinkles when it moves across the surface of the stone. The star effect is caused by aligned needle-like rutile inclusions. It is rutile that is responsible for its silky shine. When rough, a ruby is dull and smooth, but when it is cut and polished its luster is equal to that of a fine diamond.

Red start ruby

6 Rays-Star Red Ruby :-

Star Ruby is a type of ruby that exhibits a star-like phenomenon known as an asterisk. Star rubies contain intersecting needle-shaped inclusions (often the mineral rutile, a mineral composed primarily of titanium dioxide) that cause a six-ray star-shaped pattern to appear in star rubies, when viewed with a single superior light source. To cause a star, rutile needles form in tight, parallel clusters. The reflection of each group of crystals forms a straight line that appears to float on the surface of the stone. There are always three groups of crystals that intersect at a 60 degree angle to each other. The three lines formed meet in the center to form the appearance of a 6-rayed star.

This item was portrayed to be a regular size stone and when it arrived I could barely even find it in the package!!! It barely is even the size of my pinky fingernail. This was a special gift for my grandson and I am VERY disappointed!!

Star ruby is a prized variety of ruby, which is the red-color member of the corundum group. Ruby is closely related to sapphire in terms of molecular structure. .The quality of a red star ruby is determined by its color, cut, and clarity, and carat weight, which all add up to determine its value. The brightest and most valuable shade of red called blood-red, and commands a big premium over rubies of similar quality. This genuine Red Star Ruby passed all quality tests and has been fully certified, to assure that you have a real gemstone.I gave this ruby a four-star review due to small size and obvious flaws, but you can't expect anything else for less than $50!
