I just wanted an inexpensive precision file set for metal working. It's a good deal for what you get. I would get them again if I want a set that isn't this low on the bar but again good deal for what it is and the price.

The circular file cuts really nice. I didn't think my project was going to need all of the different shapes and cutting grades but I did use nearly all of them since they are so nice. There were none of the problems you read about from other vendors, like the cutting pattern not extending up the blade very high -- all of the patterns were uniform in height. This kit had the perfect mix of required shapes, points, angles, and grades. There was even one blade that had a smooth back for getting into a tight spot without disturbing adjacent or parallel material. Would definitely buy again. The vinyl pouch is suitable for holding them and when the project was done they were cleaned and put away nicely with my other tools. I would also like to add that I purchased a Pferd handle to use with these which definitely improved my experience, though I didn't always use the Pferd. When I went slowly, used small strokes, or ultra light pressure, I preferred to work without any handle and these did quite well with or without the Pferd. I purchased these files for jewelry making and they are not a good choice for that purpose. They are very course and not of a very good quality. I expected a better product.

When I received these I was dumbstruck by the POOR QUALITY. most of the files were deformed in shape and missing cutting surface on many faces and the cuts that were there were uneven. Sorry, but General Tool, you should be ashamed to put your name on these, oh wait, you didn't only on the box with MADE IN CHINA. JUNK!I wonder if Nicholson Files are still good quality. Sad that today it's almost impossible to purchase a good set of needle files for under $150. And even at that price, I wonder what I'll get. If you have old tools, hang on to them!!

Purchased to use for simple gun-smithing tasks. Glad to have them in my box. Manufacturers really have covered every type and configuration needed for my use. Very reasonably priced and recommended.

Not a master level file set, but more than adequate for my needs for general purpose metal working and filing. These are great for a starter gunsmith or detail metalworker, but you'll need a jewelers set for doing final finishing work, as these are a fairly rough cut.

For 9.99, I admit I did not expect a whole lot. But wow, these are terrible.But these are so bad I'm asking for a refund, If I can not get that, I will just toss them in the garbage.I got 3 round, 3 square, 3 flat, 1 triangular and 1 oval. Of these, about 5 were so poorly made that they are not even strait, making them pretty hard to use. They are all the same grit, so only about 3-4 in the package are even useful.Oh and they look NOTHING like the photo.

This file set has been working great for me. I've been using it to work on my latest project, assembling an R/C Helicopter. The sides of the frame are made of Carbon Fiber and the Swiss Pattern of the "file teeth" work great in smoothing up sharp corners, enlarging hole slots, etc. Highly recommended.
