LATING Generator Interlock Kit Compatible with Eaton/Cutler Hammer Challenger BR Series 150 or 200 Amp Panels, Brushed Nickel
How It Works?
- When moved up, the plate blocks the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain ON.
- When moved down, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned ON, but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain OFF.
What is a generator interlock?
- Generator lock consists of two sliding metal plates held together by three bolts.
- It is a device just manual slide up and down interlock plate to allow safe back feeding of your home through a portable generator during power outages, preventing utility and generator supplies from being ON at the same time.
- It’s used to direct the generator power to any circuit in your house safely in the event of an unexpected power outage, so that you can use electricity normally.
- NOTE: Only qualified personnel should be working on any panel box. An amateur should never open or work on a panel box. Please follow all rules and regulations of the National Electric Code.
EASY TO INSTALL THE LOCKOUT KIT:
Step1. Power Off
Power off, place the bottom plate(holes only) EXACTLY as shown and then use the pen to mark holes through the bottom plate's holes.
Step2. Drill Holes
Remove the panel cover from the breaker panel and drill the three holes marked on the panel cover using the supplied 3/16'' drill bit.
Step3. Install Interlock
Insert the screws from rear of cover, install the bottom plate and top plate on the front cover of the breaker panel. Please make sure that the top plate can be pulled freely (enough space).
Step4. Test The Lock
As shown, you see that the main breaker is ON, the generator breaker is OFF and can not be switched ON. The inter lock has been properly installed. Lastly, apply all labels on electric panel.

Drill Bit And Screws
- Supplied drill bit is made of steel and plated with PVD titanium on the surface with a metallic appearance, never fading, high hardness and wear resistance.
- The surface of our screws is galvanized, which is durable and not easy to get rusted.
Generator Breaker Retainer Straps
- There are some plays in the connection between the generator breakers and it may be some movement. Zip ties go around the generator breaker and adjacent breakers to hold them solidly to the panel. This helps keep the generator breaker from shifting.

This panel lockout switch was the closest style i could find that works with my Siemens 100 watt panel. My whole 1969 custom built house is odd with buying things that work. Seems like I have to fabricate most everything to work in one way or the other, and i had to grind a bit to make this switch slide and drop, etc. I liked the blue color.

This didn't even come close to being compatible with the panel it was designed for. I even double checked that it was what it was supposed to be and that it wasn't a different more by mistake. Just spend the extra and get the interlock from Square-D, Siemens or Eaton.

The bracket fit exactly with no slop. I did have to move the generator breaker from the right side to the left side and still have to relabel. Works as I had hoped.
