Safety Generator Interlock kit
The generator interlock kit consist of two metal plate and interlock together by three bolts. When move down, the plate stop the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain on. When move up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned on but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain off.

I had to cut a notch out of the interlock plate to make it work. Without the notch, I could not close the 50 amp branch circuit breaker connected to the portable generator incoming circuit. Of course, the 125 amp breaker was already open and the interlock plate was positioned to keep the main breaker open. Once I cut a notch into the interlock plate, I was able to close the 50 amp branch circuit breaker. I expected the interlock plate to work without any modification, considering the product sales literature stated it was made for Square D QO 125 amp panels.
